Yep, it is not in my scans or on the film.

I have another little THX surprise I would like to share with anyone interested, but I need another 1GB of hosting space. If a couple of people could use infinit with my referral, it will get me the extra space I need so that I can share the file.

They aren’t dodgy, just a very useful file storage service, and it gets me extra space to be able to share more files.

does just downloading count as the referral? that is what the link makes it seem like. it isn’t telling me i need to create an account…

I don’t get the MB credit until an account is created.

Anyone that would like a look at the US flat (cropped) version of THX, drop me your email address in a PM 😃

I just created one – did that work?

Thanks for all that you do!

Same here, i hope it counted as a referral (they should make it more clear!)

My system is locked up (in ways Microsoft never intended). 😄 Unfortunately, it won’t let anything into non-browser areas. If there’s no rush, I’ll image my system, drop the shields, and sign up. It should install normally and Infinit will give you some more storage. Then I’ll put my image back in place – kind of like Back To The Future, only in reverse.

This part had me guessing where the actual leader starts and stop. It would affect the length of the fades in & out. Any way to determine the true lengths in the original edit?

[Sorry about the extended delay for my next posting, but old laptop BSOD-ing necessitated the use of a newer replacement. As fate would have it, things there are not working properly – can’t get Avisynth to input those same files, even though they work just fine on a plain media player.] :\

[I powered through, to borrow the sycophant Press’s cover phrase (USA reference), on the older laptop and braved possible BSOD’s (Microsoft reference) by saving after each and every edit. It worked out well enough to do it this way until finished.]

So, this new section was:

Whoa, a couple of minimal chopped sections and no BSOD’s. I think I’m on a roll … just don’t tell me about that concert pillar as I flip on the jetcar’s power switch.

These new sections:

Doing this section, I noticed that when the 35mm-Italian substituted their Italian text graphics, they did not fully cover the original graphics frame-count. In this instance, which I noticed (difficult because the scan levels vary between the two films), they let the original “blank screen” continue for many frames before inserting their graphics; same thing when the original graphics stopped – they eventually stop their graphics and let the original’s blank screen continue into the next shot. My guess is happens all the time – so be on the look-out for it in all my previous (and probably wrong) divisions when the inserted Italian graphics are involved.

BTW, the forum’s table structure programming is being worked on. Just bear with it however it displays. 😃

This new section:

10th 1000+ frames

I’ve been a bit tied up with Empire, but I am rendering out another pass of THX now, it will be finished in around 30 hours.

Basically this is the last of the automated scripts to run on it, then it is a matter of going through it and looking for any problems created by the scripts and reversing any artefacts caused.
It is faster to use semi automated tools, and identify and undo any problem frames caused by them than to not use those tools.

Once that is done, then it is time for manual repair on a frame by frame basis.

I’ll be looking for people that can help identify segments that need work so I can prioritise my time.

Some samples once the render is done.

I can definitely help with that having seen the film numerous times last year to find differences with this Italian print.

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.
