Any news on the status of this project? The box set is coming out soon, but as Ollie said, it looks as though it will not be complete though without the KCOP footage. Hit us back with the info.

I'll get this project started again someday, it's one of my dream projects - We did get it copied to four DVD's so it is archived until then!

I've been trying to cruft together a "Superman 1 RIC", though I only have 2 sources (Australian 1982 broadcast and SE R1 DVD), which kind-of limits me.

I suppose if I had more source it would be easy enough to do...

the KCOP is still vaporware correct?

and why would anyone want the ric of II when the donner cut has been officially released, and that was the aim of the makers of that project in the first place to get enough interest to get it done.

Because it's different, because it reflects the way some people remember it?

RIC is a very legitimate version. It's the original hybrid cut, so to speak. Filled with material that is in neither the Theatrical cut nor the Donner cut.

With all the alternate footage in the RIC that is NOT in the Theatrical or Donner cuts, I think it is still a very viable version that should be out there.

I still have the original RIC 2SL dvd release, but I'm not sure what is and isn't allowed on here anymore.....

Torrent torrent torrent torrent torrent torrent..

Am I being to subtle?

Only version I've seen of the RIC is the old Australian transfer (am I remembering correctly?). Would love to see the hybrid cut.

I'm still saying I'd be willing to redo the Salkind cut if I could get the KCOP version, I have the tools I need. I got Rikter's rip, and it's watchable, but I'm not sure I'd want to use a 25-year-old source unless I had no choice. :/

Are there FS DVDs of Superman 1? I'd like to have the best source for all footage, but WS would need to be cut to match, or the difference in aspect ratios is really going to take the viewers out of the film.

I prefer the different aspect ratios. Some of the footage is so short that you may miss it. I like it being pointed out what is "new" and what is old.

I have the older version of the RIC and the quality is atrocious.

Is there anyone who can do similar artwork, only with the words "Salkind International Cut"?  I think those who prefer to call it that should have their way...

I can do two versions, since I'm not done with cover. I don't mind.

I just usually don't like to go back and alter covers once they are done and finalized.

BUT, isn't there a difference between the KCOP and the Salkind cuts?

The KCOP and Salkind cuts are one and the same.  It has been referred to by these two different names.  The version you may have seen on KCOP is the version the Salkinds originally prepared for television prior to ABC's first broadcast, which itself was edited from the Salkind cut.
