Idea: Star Wars Trilogy VHS Preservation Thread

As I’m seeding the last Japan SE Laserdisc over at the spleen I wanted to get this thread started. I will be uploading ISO’s of the VHS tapes I have. There are two SE sets, a Faces Widescreen Collectors Set, 2 releases of “From Star Wars To Jedi” and a 1995 “The Making Of Star Wars”.

I will post screen grabs from each like I did with the LD thread I started. With a lot of our younger members, the VHS may have been how they got started with Star Wars, and maybe this can encourage new connections and resources.

Please feel free to post comments. I’ve been sitting on these captures for awhile and figured it was finally time to set them loose to the wild for all to enjoy.

Very cool! Thanks for all your shares! VHS is certainly how I got into the trilogy to start with… courtesy of the 4:3 Faces box. Still have it! 😄
In addition to the Faces VHS box, I also have the 4:3 97 SE Box… ANH and ROTJ WS 97 SE tapes…

Will be fun to have digital versions of these!

If you’re interested in capturing the best quality of a VHS set, I have the 92 editions of empire strikes back and return of the Jedi that I know for a fact have only been played once a piece. I bought them still shrink wrapped, opened them and watched once, then the 2006 dvds came out.
