Just checking in to say I’m glad people are enjoying this set, and thanks to those that have picked up the torch to continue sharing it with true (non-ebay pirate) fans.

On a separate note, I have recently indulged in a 4K upscaling projector, and my goodness, even at 720p, the image quality of the Despec. edition projected at 160" is something to behold. Star Wars was meant to be viewed big!

Star Wars

Nice! I watch on projector also. Mine is 1080p dnd the screen size is more about 125 inches (had to cut it to fit the wall and accommodate the position of the projector since I had to find a good stud to put it on) but it still looks great and still looks giant.

Hey NJVC,

Good to see you around again and nice projector image! Currently starting to look into a HD projector and a proper hi-fi audio system myself, I simply can’t wait to one day watch Harmy’s awesome DSEs via your beautiful blurays on the big screen in my own home 😄

I downloaded these some time ago (pretty sure from Myspleen). They sat on my hard drive as I didn’t have access to a Blu-ray writer. I just burned them to Blu-ray this weekend. It looks & sounds great. I noticed, on seeing the first page of this thread, my menus and options look different than the ones pictured on the first page. Did NJVC update his menus sometime? I just want to make sure I got the right version.

The one on page 1 shows for the main menu, Vader holding up the rebel soldier by the neck.
Mine shows the same options, but plays the video of the original trailer.

For features, page 1 shows the cantina alien. Mine has the artwork of the landspeeder being stopped by Stormtroopers in Mos Eisley.

For audio, page 1 shows a frame of the rebel soldiers at the beginning of the movie, mine has some artwork.
Sound options on page 1 appear to be:
5.1 Surround [DTS-HD-MA] (1977 70mm six track mix)
2.0 Stereo [DTS-HD-MA] (1977 35mm Stereo mix)
3 1.0 Mono [DTS-HD-MA]) (1977 35mm mono mix)
As well as other non-English options.

Mine lists only:5.1 surround, 2.0 stereo, 1.0 mono

Anyone have any insight on this?
I am still giddy over finally getting these on blu-ray and thanks again to those who made it possible.

Yes, those are the original versions of the blurays, before I had all the amazing feedback from the crew at ot.com and gave them a total overhaul. Search Myspleen again, under my user name, and you’ll find all the recent versions.

And for those interested in projectors, I settled on the Epson 6040UB (the TW9300W in Australia). It has really good quality 4k upscaling, but doesn’t cost anything near what most of the true 4k projectors do.

I’m curious as to the aspect ratio being used with yours and the screen you’re using. Is that native to the bluray? As it looks a lot narrower again than I’m used to seeing.

Thanks for the reply. I do appear to have the older version. Just checked the spleen and what I see appears to be the same as what I have? Am I missing something? If I find the newer versions, I’ll happily snag them.

Congrats on the projector. That will be my next big purchase. Hopefully the same model.

Scratch that, I think I found them. Thank you though!

Not using a screen yet, just projecting on the wall for now. Aspect Ratio is 2.35:1

How recent are the updates? The ones that I found were uploaded in June of 2016; have newer versions been uploaded by someone else? Just curious, especially considering that freeleech is currently in play.

The versions completed in June/July 2016 are the most recent.

Ok…gotcha. The preview video looked like the version I downloaded initially; so thanks for the confirmation, I really appreciate it.

When I found it the other day, I didn’t find it by searching njvc. At the top, there’s a little drop down menu that defaults to “name.” I clicked it and search for “both” (name and description) and then searched for the term njvc, and that’s when it turned up in the results.
You’ll see his name on the right, under Uploader.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually downloaded these quite a ways back through Mega, before the dark days of the 5gb limits, but when I read that there had been an update, I wanted to confirm which version I had. I appreciate the help tho.

I have a quick question why don’t you use a google drive wouldn’t it be so much easier and you can set to only can view it through links why use this insane process of getting jdownloader or torrenting it

First & foremost is that we need to not make it TOO easy to get these. The copyright holders would be more than capable of shutting all this down permanently if they decided too.

As for google drive, there is nowhere near the space needed. It would take dozens of accounts to hold all the rar files. Size is the same reason many like to use torrents (though I myself do not).

As for as using Jdownloader or FreeRapid Downloader, they are just ways of downloading files concurrently, so as not to takes anymore time than they must. But even then it will take a very long time. You can download all the links one by one with out them, but that would likely take weeks.

Also the other reason I don’t like free rapid and jdownloader well they have ad ware built in and some spyware

I don’t buy them but I understand why people do

The Dropbox link for FreeRapid Downloader provided in Section 4, Step 2 of TUIG is clean.

(Here’s that link for your convenience.)

I understand your concerns, but I have had no trouble with it, and using a download manager will save you tons of time.

The NJVC Custom Bluray Set of Harmy’s Despecialized Editions is available on Mega.

jdownloader 2 was clean last time I downloaded it. Granted it’s been a few years though.

OK, I got my graphics issues with phildesfr’s templates worked out, and finished my set for all 3 movies. These, like phildesfr’s, are for standard Blu-ray cases. I also made a tweak in the inserts I linked earlier, both the cases and the updated inserts are available at this link:

https://mega.nz/#F!ac42iZDK!J8GqOJcy8iWvltcnu0Yg8Q

Thanks to phildesfr, he did most of the work, I just tweaked them for this set. If anyone sees any errors, let me know and I’ll try to correct them.

ESB: http://i.imgur.com/57qkcFE.png
RotJ: http://i.imgur.com/TZRiJY1.jpg

I know I’m late to the party as I only recently got to check these out.
I noticed a small error on Stardork’s cover art. I tried to contact him, but haven’t heard a response.
On the Star Wars case art, it says “1997 70mm Six Track Mix” should be 1977.

Anyone have a way to contact Stardork or have a way to correct this in high res?
Trying now to find a place to print disc art, no luck so far in my area.

I’ve no idea on how how to contact Stardork if he is not answering his PM’s - hopefully he’ll be around soon - it’s a quality set he came up with.

All the best of luck in finding a local printers for your discart too - an independent printer company or store may have the facility to do it 😃

Thanks very much. I tried to fix it in MS Paint too. I was able to download his little preview and work with it, but the file contained in the .pdf appears to be higher resolution. Note especially the detail on the Lucasfilm Ltd logos. I’m not able to extract the higher resolution one from the .pdf to work with that one as I don’t have the correct software.

Local printers shied away from printing cover art as it contained the words “copyright.” As for the disc art, I found a place that can print to a label to affix to the disc, but not directly to the disc itself.

I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but I’ve searched and haven’t been able to find an answer.

Are the 3.0 versions that Harmy is (presumably) working on planned to be the “final” versions of the movies? Also, do we know which Harmy is working on currently?

well, there will probably never be a ‘final’ despecialized, but 3.0 is going to be a 1080p project (2.x is 720p). The last update i heard was that Harmy is still working on ESB 2.5

JEDIT: run over by the catbus

What happened to this? 3.0 still isn’t out

you are very observant 😉

If you haven’t found it yet, most relevant discussion is here http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-V27-MKV-IS-OUT-NOW/id/12713/page/634#1140179 and no, 3.0 is probably not coming very soon. but …
