That sounds fantastic!  Once you have it converted, I can do DVD menus and such as I recently acquired Premiere and Encore CS4 (a professional DVD authoring program I actually understand, unlike DVD Studio Pro).

I can handle the authoring just fine, I've been using DVD-lab Pro for about four years now and I'm pretty adept at it. The hard part is going to be the converting.

Ah splendid! I'd love to see this extended version. The .mp4 version has no more seeders on Mininova.

Yeah, I'll make both a PAL and NTSC version.

EDIT: Also, I can't take full credit for being the man. Don't forget our anonymous hero who capped the stream in HD and has nicely uploaded it for me.

Just so everyone knows, Dark Jedi is working on a DVD version of this (dealing with many of the same pain-in-the-ass codec difficulties that he dealt with on Howard the Duck and swore he'd never do again), for which everyone interested should be super-thankful. He or I will post here when there is something more to post about.

OK I might,and I say might have this baby figured out now,here are some screens:

 

I know the screen looks a little soft but this is the way it looks on the source to, it is only a 7.32 GB file for such a long movie.

having stumbled upon this thread a month ago i think its time for my first post.

firstly hello to all !!! around a month ago i caved in and watched southland on sky movies, i had been keeping away from watching it as i wanted to import the blu ray ( still not available here in the UK ) and watch the film in the best available form. after watching it on sky, i imported the blu ray and watched it around a week later.......thats when it hit me, these cuts were totally different!! searching the net i stumbled across this forum and was very happy to see that someone managed to capture the HD feed. it was on sky yesterday and despite advertising the run time 138m, it was indeed the cannes cut - General Teena MacArthur scenes, hand chopping at the beginning, slightly more jon lovitz etc.

with the best my equipment could manage i recorded the film to my sky + box ( your equivalent of tivo ) and recorded it to a DVD-R. obviously this will not be as good as dark jedi's contribution, but it is a hell of an upgrade over the MP4 version. so if anything is to go wrong ( and i pray it doesn't ) with dark jedi's project then i have this copy to distribute......

I'd very much like a copy of this myself. I neither have any Demonoid accounts, and I don't even know what Spleen is =/

When it gets uploaded I am leaning towards Spleen,because at least there we can watch hit and runners,and it goes towards our ratio,so hopefully RB will go there and I will help seed.

between RB and myself and others here,I am sure those of you without Spleen accounts can get invites.

OK the DVD is done,I am going to watch some of it tonight and the rest of it tomorrow morning,here are some screens,sorry in advance for the cheap ass menu's but I just really don't care for them anyways,and the scene grab of the scene selection doesn't show it,but the little screens are in motion.

 

Well that is it folks,no more,no less,it is just to bad I had to mess up Sara's pretty picture.

hi guys. what is spleen? is a torrent community? because I can't really help seed here. I'm at a university college. they kill you for seeding torrents for more than a couple of hours =/

Got discs from DJ today. Very excellent work! I've got an NTSC version and a PAL version. I'll upload the NTSC DVD to both Demonoid and MySpleen, and I'll probably up an XviD rip at Demonoid following. This won't be for a few days, though. I'm waiting on a new heatsink for my desktop and I don't keep it running for very long currently. When I can keep it on for a few days straight, I'll post back.

and you should have gotten a "Bonus" DVD as well.

I had no idea you were still doing the PAL version! I wasn't going to push that one because PAL folks can generally play NTSC, yeah? And I did get the bonus. I'm really looking forward to checking that out, too. Many thanks, my friend.
