He didn't want a movie of Sin City and was unwilling to part ways with the rights. However, apparently Rodriguez's prospectus and preliminary footage just blew him away.

He probably appreciated the fact that Rodriguez is a bit of a renegade, being as he's based out of Texas and does almost all of his projects there; even fellow Texans like Mike Judge and Richard Linklater have had to go to Hollywood to get their films off the ground.

Me too. I feel bad that I've left it for so long, but whenever I come across the trade I never have any cash (I think its like $50+ Canadian)

I haven't read the dark knight sequel either, but I've heard its shamefully bad.

AICN reported the other day that Rodiguez resigned from the directors guild because he wants to give Miller a co-director credit on the SC movie and he knew the guild would get in a tizzy so he just handed in his resignation.

I really hope all this hype and fuss ends up with a great movie at the end, SC is the sort of material that if its anything short of magnificent it will be terrible terrible crap.

Has there been another Sin City mini series since "Booze Broads & Bullets"? Or is that the series you're referring to?

DK2 was truely truely shameful & I felt ruined an absolute classic piece of comic book history! altho the action figures they've got due for the summer release from DKR & DK2 look hella cooooooooooooooooooooooool!

anyways in more Sin city film news Variety reports that Spy Kids regular Carla Gugino has joined the cast playing a lesbian parole officer in a story arc that is expected to include Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke!!!!!!!!!11

Can we cast Salma Hayek as Gugino's lesbian lover? That's a scene I'd pay to see. Even better than Naomi Watts and Laura Harring in Mulholland Drive.

If I remember correctly this parole officer character is in both the original story and THAT YELLOW BASTARD. She has a brrief cameo in TYB as Hartigan's parole officer, but she is also Marv's parole officer in the orignal story and gets captured with him by Rourke and has her hand eatten by him. I've got the trades stacked up across the room I should go double check.

To be honest with ya, I couldn't stand the movie. It made absolutely no sense. And I finished it. Two hours I'll never get back.

I agree. I'm glad someone is on my side with MD. Its a terrible piece of pretentious dribbe. Amnd since all my friends are film geeks I have to constantly hear what a masterpiece it is. Naomi Watts was the only good thing about it (I wasn't much for the other girl)

The whole film just bugged me in every concievable way.

It started off like it would be a decent murder mystery and, as strange as it sounds, it was seemingly straightforward. Until that damn cube or whatever it was. Then the movie went to hell.

The thing is I realized while watching it that even Lynch didn't know or care where it was going, or at least thats what it felt like. Originally MD was a TV pilot and only the last 30 minutes was shot to make it a movie (where allt he lesbian nudity comes into play) so I will say this, had it been a TV show and had had years to develop out the weird mystery to the point we reach at the end of the movie, it might of worked a lot better.
