At 6’5" I can certainly relate to that - along with not being asked ‘what is the weather like up there?’ etc 😃

I finally figured out how to use swipe typing on my new iPhone. Since prepared for longer messages with more confusing word choices from possessed.

Supposedly the app I’m using learns about your word patterns. I hope so because I loved swiping on Android but I’ve had to correct nearly every word so far here. For illustration I will now retype this message and not correct anything.

Hmm. It seems to already be learning. It did quite well in some sections.

No doubt. I’m still laughing at the idea of correctly Anthonying so I can top illustrate an owl.

Or it was until I tried to type that.

But it did that last sentence perfectly. And this one. And this one. And so on. (<And that one and this one)

Just finished up my last night shift! So happy to finally be back to my normal shift on Monday (and no more 12s, either)!

Of course, my last night shift had to be daylight savings night, which means I actually worked 13 hours, but only get paid for 12. They justify it by spring daylight savings being an 11 hour shift that’s paid as 12, but I wasn’t on night shift then so I didn’t get that benefit, and I sincerely hope I won’t be on night shift next spring.

Oh well, it’s worth losing the $18.47 I would have made in the extra hour to finally be done with this night shift hell.

Now to stay up all day so I can sleep tonight to be back at work at noon on Monday…

That surprises me. A place I worked at a while back paid for 13 hours of work on daylight savings night. I didn’t work nights at the time but I know they did.

Either way I’m glad you don’t have to deal with that shit anymore.

Recently I attended my annual progress review and the panel decided that, “judging by the depth and quality” of my research, that surpassed what they, “would’ve expected from someone at such an early phase in a PhD programme”, there could be no doubt whatsoever about my progression to the next stage of the doctorate.

I’ve been urged to, “present and publish” at my earliest opportunity. This news has come as a great relief because at some points over the past 12 months, I had a very difficult time and feared that I might wash out of the programme with an MPhil.
