Snoop Dog has never been in the Swet Shop Boys has he? - the true test for any ID to the Imperial pilot who defected in Rogue One 😃

(bring back the deleted scenes of Bodhie in rap battles vs the Empire, or James Cordon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfKDozXX_Uo 😃)

Apparently, you’ve lost a rather talkative cargo pilot.

I knew someone would eventually break up a set of Dark Side socks from Stance and I could augment my Rogue One set.
Just arrived yesterday in time for #18 tonight. Brand new, out of the package, didn’t even wash them yet.

Oh, and for the record, I’ve partied with D O double G. With God as my witness. It was one for the books.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m busy for the next two hours. 😉

Noticed that the VUDU digital copy of Rogue One has burned in alien subtitles but the iTunes version doesn’t. Not sure if that’s useful for any fan edit or anything.

Name: Jim Death-Star
Race: Human
Age: 42
Faction: New Empire
Occupation: Death Star Owner and Pilot
Weapons: Death Star
Weapon Proficiencies: Death Star Piloting, Death Star Laser Firing, Death Star Tractor Beam Using, All Other Things Death Stary
Equipment: Death Star
Ship(s): Death Star, All Ships in the Death Star

History: I am one of the famous Death-Star family. My grandfather, Tom Death, was married to my grandmother, Alice Star. She didn’t want to give up her maiden name, so she changed it to Alice Death-Star. My father, Phillip Death-Star, designed and built the first Death Star. I learned at his feet, and when the time was right, I built my own Death Star. I now work for the New Empire, the only people that appreciate my Death Star skillz.

RP Example: Jim pitched the Death Star hard to port. The filthy Rebels were attacking in waves, but the X-wings were like gnats to an elephant. Jim saw that the planet Naboo was squarely in his sights. He charged the Death Star Lazer, and fired when ready. Naboo popped like a balloon, the only sound being the anguished cries of Gungans before they were quickly cut off.

Jim smiled.

Ugh, another thing ruined by Rogue One.

Woah! I need to hear this story…

I’ll say only this. It happened, it was a closed exclusive, and it was one of the more memorable evenings of my life. I mean, one of the more memorable near all-nighters. 😉

Now, on an on-topic note: If the board will forgive a momentary lapse in my Summer Of Rogue, in light of this week’s very sad news this Sunday evening viewing will be the 1966 Batman film. A moment to pay homage to my boyhood hero, my lifetime ethical guide, and my lifetime moral compass. That show and that character have been an enormous part of my life and remain so to this day. For tonight’s viewing…

Nice!

We watched many episodes of the TV show last night. Even with the sad news heavy in the air, that show is just endlessly entertaining.

I still haven’t seen R1 since my one time at the theater. I’ve almost bought it well over a dozen times. I’ve now decided to wait a year from my only viewing of it to see it again.

Just watched my Rogue One Blu Ray again and thought I would chime in with some thoughts …I dig it . There are a lot of homages to other Star Wars stories or ideas that were cribbed from them I suspect . When K2-So slaps Cassian and says there is another one if he mouths off again , the exact scenario happens in the first ever E.U. novel Splinter Of The Mind’s Eye . In that book , Luke and Leia are disguised as miners on an Imperial mining planet and are questioned by an Imperial Officer , Luke Slaps Leia and tells her she gets no favors until he finishes his dinner. Of course, the Whills were mentioned in the forward to the Original Star Wars novel ,which is ghost written by Alan Dean Foster who also wrote splinter .The Kyber Crystals had origins in Splinter and the novel would have been the sequel to the original film if it had only been a modest success. Near the end of the movie , there is an Imperial Data Vault on Scarif , which reminds me a lot of the original Marvel Star Wars comic issue 63 where Luke has to infiltrate an Imperial Data Vault on Krakes Planet to recover a data chip and clear his name.I have not yet read any of the Rougue one books yet but wonder if they answer a few questions . I have my own theories though about some. For instance , at the beginning of the movie , why are there moisture vaporators on a seemingly rain swept planet ? on viewing this time around , I noticed the soil was black , so I am guessing that region of the planet suffered some kind of earlier devastation and there is some kind of regrowth and regeneration involved. There are red robed Figures with square hoods walking around in Jhedda , I am guessing they are tied into the Emperors Royal Guard somehow . Speaking of Jheda , the city interior shots reminded me a lot of the art of Dave Doorman who did a lot of comic covers for Dark Horse in the 90s. I am sure I will notice more things on repeat viewings .To me , that is the mark of a good Star Wars movie when it rewards you with new insights on repeat viewings and you see new things each time and it makes you curious about the worlds it is set in .that is all for now .I am sure some of this has been covered elsewhere , I just wanted to get some of my thoughts down while fresh from a viewing.

Ha! I was just thinking last night while watching Moana on Netflix with my sister that it would probably be this time next month that Rogue One shows up.

They’ve followed a pattern of dropping a movie three and a half months after it hits disc. For example, Captain America: Civil War streeted on blu-ray mid-September and debuted on Netflix Christmas Day.

On a side note, I still haven’t seen Guardians vol 2. The recent news that it might end up being one of Disney’s first UHD disc releases and thus “future-proofed” makes me kinda want to buy it (I avoided getting Rogue One on blu for this very reason), but then I remember it will likely be up on Netflix by the end of the year. Ditto WB/Fox/Uni movies and HBO (Fox movies even tend to be properly letterboxed when HBO shows them).

I love physical media and the advantages that come along with it, but it’s really no surprise to hear it’s not selling like it used to.

Rogue One is just so enjoyable. It ties everything together because it features elements of the Original Trilogy, the prequels, the clone wars animated series, Rebels, and even the old expanded universe. Since Kylo Ren loves all things Darth Vader, it’s possible Vader’s spot on Mustafar could show up in the new movies, or maybe one of those other places.

How about STAR WARS Radio Horror Drama?

Close your eyes and crank up your headphones when that hallway scene is about to begin…

Feel free to reply if you twitched instinctively during those screams…

I’m still seeing those red flashes which my eyelids didn’t block…

I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...
