Recommendations on DVD Menu Software

Hey all. Can anyone reccomend a good Program to use for Creating DVD Menus? I am looking for something that I can have some good flexability to do stuff like having a main movie and then on the second page of the menu, have a page where I can select the Audio files of the Soundtrack CD kind of like a jukebox.

I am using Nero 6 Vision Express but it doesn't seem to be too flexible. Looking to buy a new program for this, but just wanted to see what the consensus was on which one to buy.

Thanks!

Personally, I use DVD-lab Pro. It's got pretty much all the functionality of something like Adobe Encore, you just have to do a little more work to use it to its full potential. In both programs, though, you can create menus in Photoshop and import them to use as menus.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the reccomendation. I've been looking at both. Is there anything special I would need to do to be able to do some sort of a jukebox type of menu with WAV Audio as well as have a feature on a seperate menu, or are the programs self explanatory?

The programs are pretty self-explanatory. I haven't worked much with Encore, but in DVD-lab you can easily just drag and audio clip onto the menu you're working on and it will be set as the music for that menu. And linking menus to other menus is a snap as well.

I love DVDLab Pro. It's done everything I've wanted a DVD to do, and every new project gets bigger and better as more tricks are learned. The visual layout is a big boon to me, so I can see all the links, and it's easy to test button layouts and connections before compiling.

JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

I love a combination of Photoshop, Avisynth and DVDMaestro. Photoshop to create the non moving parts. Avisynth to add the moving parts to the stuff made in Photoshop. And DVDMaestro to add the menu to the dvd plus making the controls work.

Making a menu with these programs, is not the most easy way, but it gives you full flexibility.

A new release of Star Wars is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.

How do folks add cool animated logos that play before the menus but don't repeat when you hit "Top Menu" ? Kind of like that damned FBI warning?

My dvd creating knowledge/skill isnt as high as some people here, but i believe to do that in dvd lab pro you set the animated logo as first play, and can then link the top menu action to the menu. The link view in dvd lab pro should show these link lines.
