I wanna say ‘thank you’ to a guy who really loves Star Wars, though I dont know anything about the show…

One way of really demonstrating gratitude would be to share the source of his enthusiasm by watching the films and picking something from it yourself.

Sadly George Lucas doesn't want you to see the films as they were originally made but if he is such a fan he should already have a copy of official sanctioned versions.

Maybe obtaining and giving him a restoration, a fan documentary or a fan edit would broaden his appreciation of that which he already loves and in doing so providing a demonstration of thanks.
