Who should play Wonder Woman?

Author

Found this poll on Yahoo Upcoming Movies and thought it would be interesting to replicate here. If you do pick the "someone else" option, make sure to specify who you think would be best...

Visually, I think Eliza would make the best wonder woman, but I don't think it would be a very good movie (but hey, anything to see her in the suit. )

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

Biel was a fairly believable heroine in Blade 3, so I vote for her.

Could someone post a URL for this poll, I couldn't seem to find it.

I don't know who 'Eliza' is, and I personally don't think Biel could, ahem, fill the costume, if you know what I mean.

Anybody think Monica Belluci could do it? She has the European accent down.

She would kick ass! She's got *my* vote.... sexy AND powerful! Did you see her in 'Brotherhood of the Wolf'?

Nope, didn't even know she was in it.

Its a really cool movie anyway, but she plays a witch/oracle type woman in it... or a prostitute... actually all of the above.

I vote for that wrestler chick, Chyna...just kidding. Actually I agree that Eliza Dushku (hope i spelled it right) would make a good choice. Got the bod and the face for it.

Cathy Lee Crosby... oh, wait; she already did it.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I had SUCH the crush on her back in the 'That's Incredible' days! I even mailed her a fan letter and received an autographed swimsuit poster of her because of it! Ahhh... those were the days.

And for you younger readers- DO NOT confuse her with that *other* Cathy Lee... Cathy Lee Gifford. *SHUDDER*

Not *my* poster but similar... *mine* was personalized..

Here's a link to the original poll.

Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba are tied for the lead. Fanboys... bah!

I still think Lawless is the best for the part. She already has the geekdom fanbase, has shown she can kick some serious ass, can fill out a showy outfit, is very physically strong yet sexy at the same time.

Go Xena!

I've already seen Lucy fall out of her top. I want to see Dushku do it.

I really have to support Monica Bellucci. That was a great choice. And something about Lawless just annoys me to no end.

Monica Bellucci works for me.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

Somehow I doubt a Wonder Woman movie would have nudity just because they'd want to keep it at PG-13 and for some reason sex is less of a deal breaker than a harmless shower. The MPAA is so messed up.

When did this become the most beautiful women topic?

How about Lynda Carter? Heheh, the one and only WW as far as I'm concerned.

If you twisted my arm, I'd say Jessica Biel.

Hey, here's a rumor. WW will be this girl. The new WW?

More PC race changing? *sigh*

Oh well. She's pretty irreguardless.

I don't know that I necessarily consider race changes to always be an example of PC gone awry. Some may be, yes. But not all. In the case of Michael Clarke Duncan in Daredevil, I don't think there's a white actor who could have embodied the role as well as Duncan did. The only one who would have come close might have been Michael Chiklis but I think casting was complete before Chiklis really came on peoples' radars for The Shield (that is his show, right?).

I thought Michael Clarke Duncan was a mistake in Daredevil. I would have rather seen Ving Rhames, since he could pul off the menace and the intelligence; MCD was just an oversize thug. Chiklis could have worked, but part of the Kingpin is that basso profundo voice (as provided by Roscoe Lee Browne, another black actor, in the animated Spider-Man of the early 90s), and Chiklis doesn't have it.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

The Kingpin is supposed to be a fat-looking white bald guy with semi-super strength. End of story.

I think Miss Julie is still the Best for WW! She was the Heavy Metal Girl. She's Tall at over 6 feet! IMHO.

True. But who could've pulled it off? I can't think of anybody but Chiklis, but, like I said, he wasn't a name then and probably wasn't even a consideration. And if you say that they should CG an actor to look as big as he needs to be, I'm gonna smack you one. That's just what that movie needed was some CG-enhanced actors to make it even worse. Affleck fighting against a CG-enhanced Kingpin. Oh, that would just be great. He's already a pretty bad actor and now you want him to fight a blue screen?

I've not even seen Daredevil, actually.
