Please tell me you love the original TCM over the remake!

Yea, I know this movie's been out for awhile, but I just saw it for the first time the other day when I bought the god awful dvd. One of the worst remakes I've ever seen. And its not just my comparison of it with the original that makes it look bad; IT IS Bad! The direction is awful, the acting is awful, the story is awful, etc... I am so tired of hearing these little kids on other forums talk about how great the remake is over the original. I just want to put my foot so far up their asses it hurts!

I've never had homicidal thoughts until now! (okay, maybe just a few)

TCM=Turner Classic Movies channel ...?
I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

also thought that he was talking about TPM maybe and that he just misspelled it.

haven't seen either of the Texas movies though. but i definitely would prefer seeing the original one first.

youre not the first one to tell me that the original is much better than the remake.

Having never seen any of the versions of TCM (more than just these two - anyone seen the version with Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger?), I think I'll stay out of here.

I have not seen the entire original version and have seen most of the remake (I work in a movie theatre). That being said, and having been given some very thorough descriptions of the differences between the two, I would have to side with SES. The one thing the remake has going for it is atmosphere; the world the characters inhabit is creepy and disgusting. one of the major problems with it, though, is that it lacks a sense of humour, which the original has in spades. The banquet scene alone is a great chuckle, albeit it sick one. Am I on the right path here, SES?

I have not seen either version. But, it is par for the course that the remake is not as good as the original.

Rule #1 before seeing remakes always go rent the oroginal first.

This applies for Texas Chainsaw Massacre,Dawn of the Dead and any other movies.

Unless you, like I was as a child, are introduced to the remake without realizing that an original exists. Damnable thing.

right, thought he was talking about a remake. didn't know that Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey were in a TCM sequel. They were young and needed the money I guess...

Yeah, it was one of those "before they were stars" things that never got released until the two made it big and the indie house figured they could cash in on their newfound fame.

No, I did not see that version or any version of TCM. I can't quite recall what movie I saw the remake of before the original. But I know it has happened. Just drawing a blank at the moment.

Who are you? Tony the Tiger?

As for the Zellweger/McCon version... sorry to have mentioned it, but it's out there and people should know about it so that they are fully informed. I'm not recommending watching it, just giving you all the 411.

Sort of a "knowing what to avoid" strategy; right, Bossk?

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.
