I got a copy, and will gladly give you a review:

The edit: Very well and very great!

The presentation: Anamorphic 1.85:1 Widescreen. Sources: Phantasm R1 MGM SE, Phantasm II R1 Universal, Phantasm: OblIVion R1 Anchor Bay 2008 Release. Apparently, the reason why ThomasJarvis chose the MGM of Phantasm rather than the Anchor Bay 2007 release was because he said "We felt that the more washed-out, lesser quality look of MGM's print might better mesh with the restored deleted scenes, which to my knowllege have never been properly re-mastered in any form, even on the recent Anchor Bay editions. We felt better continuity would be maintained if the bulk of the movie didn't look nearly approaching HD levels while the re-inserted
scenes all look as if they were freshly retrieved from an old beat-up grindhouse print rescued from touring a 70's drvie-in revival circuit. The thing of it is, in this particular instance, I only happen to own the MGM release at present, I never got around to getting ahold of the Anchor
Bay releases. So all the start & stop time marks that I mapped out for the edit are according to the MGM print. Looking back, perhaps we should have attempted to use the Anchor Bay release after all."

That, I'll understand, but that's why pencils have erasers, am I right?

That said, there are some teeny tiny flaws. Not alot but just with editing measures. The scenes taken from the DVD releases of II and IV look zoomed in and some scenes appear to begin and end sought of odd. For instance, the scene at the end where the dwarf grabs Mike from the closet and right before the footage from II is used, it goes black for a second or 2 nano-seconds another being the Hanging Sequence where the sequence started near the part where The Tall Man was going to be trapped in the mine shaft and after the Haning Sequence (after the Tall Man says to Mike "BOOOOOOOOYYYY!" after Mike cuts him down) it then goes to the scene where The Tall Man chases Mike at the Mine Shaft.  Another, the scene where The Tall Man is first destroyed by the cold. It's added after the deleted scene with Mike and Reggie in the Coffin Room. This is how I would do it: I would add the first Tall Man's demise deleted sequence afterJody shoots the sphere and saves Mike and after Mike saiys to Jody "Come on" when they head to the White Room. I also would add an exterior shot of the Morningside House before the deleted scene starts. After the deleted scene is done (when the yellow blood splattered on the walls), cut to the door of the White Room and we hear someone coming out of the dimensional fork (The Tall Man). Aside that, ThomasJarvis made a great introduction to his edit. It starts with Mike jumping on Reggie's Ice Cream Truck, Mike and Jody driving down the road unknowingly passing The Tall Man, and the Tall Man driving up to the Morningside (that one is the Phantasm IV opening and put in very well for this edit). The edit is watchable and really worth your time. I for one hope to see a 2.0 version of this with some things fixed and using the Phantasm R1 2007 Anchor Bay release instead of the MGM release. But really, thanks ThomasJarvis for making this! In short, I give this edit a 8/10.

Firstly, many thanks to ThiefCobbler4ever for his excellent and exceedingly fair review of the Phantasm Phan-Edit. I'm glad to see that someone here enjoyed my little labour of love.

On an altogether different note...

For those of you with an interest in this 'Phantasm Extended Phan-Edit', you may also be intrieged by another nightmarish horror film related fan-project that myself and my fellow fan-editor have recently completed work on.

A new version of 'Friday the 13th Part V'; inwhich Jason is the actual killer in the film instead of the imposter Roy (the paramedic).

My co-editor and I actually took quite a few ques from our 'Phantasm Phan-Edit' for this new project, we made the film feel much more like one long nightmare; with an over-riding simmilar sence of dream-logic...by adding more hallucinations and nightmare sequences for the Tommy charactor, as well as Jason himself (who has a few drowning flashbacks).

Google "Friday The 13th Part V The Killer Is Jason Fan-Edit" or go to where be docked the Black Pearl, ahhr ahhr (hint, hint).

I've also started a new O-T thread on this very subject, which can be located here:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Friday-the-13th-Part-V-The-Killer-Is-Jason-Edition/topic/11089/

A mere days before we began this edit, we had nearly completed principal editing work on our unique "extended edition/true fan edit" of Don Coscarelli's 1979 exploitation masterpiece 'Phantasm'...Well, somehow or other, the dream-logic and nightmarish qualities so intrinsic to that particular cult classic have seemed to somehow bleed into and have virtually overtaken the mood and flow of this current edit. It's difficult to put into words what is happening with this project, to be perfectly honest. It certainly is unique, I'll give it that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a brief list of some of the changes we've made, but this list will in no way come even close to conveying the strange mood and eerie flavor of this edit, nor is it even close to a comprehensive list of all the countless trims & additions we've made to the film overall:

- The theatrical trailers for the first five films play out in quick succession as "coming attractions" before the film proper actually begins. These will be encoded to play out as part of the main feature, not as "extras", but we plan to map out the menu so that you can skip this section via "scene selection" for those who prefer to do so --- however this is not recommended, as you can't exactly skip the opening trailers at a grindhouse film festival showing at the Alamo Draft House, for example (unless you skipp off to the concessions or duck into the latrine).

- The gravediggers have been cut from the picture.

- The character of Roy the paramedic has been virtually cut from the picture save a brief appearance as an un-named, unimportant background character.

- Tommy has more hallucinations and nightmares.

- Jason himself is now the actual killer in the film.

- Many deaths and dramatic confrontations have been tightened for greater emotional impact and enhanced for more modern cinematic sensibilities

- Most of the campy dialogue has been trimmed to better facilitate a more serious tone and overall darker feel to the picture

- Virtually all camera shots in inwhich the killer's right eye is visible have been deleted, to better maintain continuity with Jason's previously sustained cranial damage as depicted in the fourth film

- many more twists, turns and surprises lie in store for those adventurous enough to dare give this new and somewhat overly ambitious fan-project a spin.
