Option to Ignore A Thread.

It might be generally useful to be able to ignore or hide a thread where the subject is of no interest to you personally or in the case of Off Topic where the contents are to some degree offensive or irksome.

That way when you go to a board the items which are of most interest will instantly pop to the front of view.

Some people have no interest in things like parody threads or memorial threads and being able to make them vanish may make the boards more lively and fluid because what may be at the top of one persons board list may not be the same as everyone else.

It might also help with things like threads where there is obvious friction because if you clicked on the option you would have to unclick it again to get drawn back into whatever veil of woe had caused you to click it away in disgust.

That might provide a cooling off barrier help people get along better.

Along those lines it's easy enough to ignore a user without using the ignore feature, the ignore feature is still there as an option.

What I'm proposing is offering the option to order the visible board page to match your personal interests and avoid what doesn't interest you.

That would bump some threads up the visible board for some users and keep them active.

Some people trail way down a board history to dig up an old thread of interest but most people don't.

Blanking out threads that don't appeal to you personally would move some older threads that do automatically closer.

Some users like posting certain types of thread that don't appeal to people but still contribute well to more conventional threads.

Putting the user on ignore blanks everything that user would write.

Blanking a wall of GIFs thread (which some people don't enjoy...I don't mind them) would still allow for the originators other posts to be read without manually opening them.
