I ask this here because you guys are knowledgeable about DVD’s.

Has anyone seen the classic b-movie horror, FROM BEYOND?

It has Jeffery Combs from re-animator.

It is not out on dvd. Not sure if or when it will be on dvd.

Did it ever come out on LD?

If it is, anyone what to do a transfer?

I got the VHS of it, one of the better horror movies to come out of the 80s I thought, it is available on laserdisc if you can find it. Wouldn't mind getting a better quality version on DVD or the laserdisc.

Always best to take a look at LDDB.com if you want to find out if a particular title is on laserdisc, IMDB isn't so up to date.

Thanks for the link. I did not even know about that site.

I did search imdb and came up blank.

Now we need to find someone with the LD and willing to do the transfer for us.

I really miss this film and since I no longer have a vhs player, you guys are my only hope...

"you guys are my only hope..."

No, there is another...

Well a couple actually, theres the Hong Kong DVD release of From Beyond, although it looks severely lacking and has burned in subtitles,

Then there was this very promising article at the start of the year: MGM From Beyond DVD in the works - missing footage found
Sounds fantastic, but unfortunately things have gone rather quiet on that front, and no one seems to know if or when this will see the light of day.
Although MGM have been releasing a number of films I thought would never get released onto DVD, so fingers crossed that they're still busy working on From Beyond.

that is awesome!

From beyond is just on of those films that has stuck in my head since its release. If all b-horror movies could be as smart and dark as From Beyond, I would be a happy man.

That uncensored directors cut would be amazing!

Now I am on a mission!

Hopefully that MGM buy out didn't screw things up. Be great to see this on DVD.

Yeah, I was wondering if the Sony buy-out of MGM might've affected it, although when i checked on google that seemed take place October last year, well before Stuart Gordons January comments in the above article, which seems promising. We can but hope.
