It’s easy to say “I’d never let my kids do X!” when you aren’t a parent. But no one does parenting in a vacuum. Or at least, they shouldn’t. If you do, you’re probably not a great parent.

Oh I don’t doubt that, and I was joking to an extent. That said, I don’t think I could handle watching My Little Pony in a theatre.

I just learned tonight that the next movie I’ll see is My Little Pony: The Movie.

*#@&!

When I have kids, I won’t allow them to watch such films.

Hahahaha.

What? My parents never took me to movies and I’m all right.

You sure?

Actually, I think they might have taken me to see a movie once, but only once. I’m not alright, but that stems from a lot of non-movie related problems.

Perhaps The Foreigner and then THOR: Ragnarok. No idea if KINGSMAN: The Golden Circle is still in cinemas. I do use Letterboxd since it’s great for keeping track of movies the user wants to see with its Watchlist function.

Why do they want to see it?

Think back to when you were a child. Why did you want to see a cartoon you’d probably find lame/stupid/etc. now?

Because the corporate forces marketed it heavily during my Saturday morning cartoons.

Maybe I’m just bitter because my parents never let me leave the house.

My MoviePass card finally arrived this week, so I’ll be going to the movies a whole lot more often. I plan on finally getting to It and rewatching Blade Runner 2049 soon.

I still don’t understand the point of your question.

I have a few friends who got those cards, has worked well for them. Sadly I rarely go to the movies, and love IMAX, so it is not a good fit for me.

It was just a question, there was no point.

See, the closest IMAX screen is something like 45 minutes away, and meanwhile I have two non-IMAX theaters within ten minutes of my house, so I’m an ideal candidate.

Ok fine, I assumed you were trying to make a point because otherwise the answer should be obvious. They’re little girls who love My Little Pony. That’s why they wanted to see the My Little Pony movie.

I go to the movies about once a week, and I probably have at least 10 movie theaters in as many miles of where I live now, so when they dropped their price, it was a no-brainer.

I do love IMAX though, and there are a lot of those nearby too (and Dolby Atmos theaters), so if they add a premium option to the pass I’ll probably bite.

Me too. Maybe he didn’t know how young they were? That’s the only thing I can think of.

Blade Runner 2049

Finally.

about time, you know, the film ‘bombed at the box office’ because of you!

It’s all part of my sinister plot to have liked the movie before it was cool (aka before the home media release makes it attain cult-classic status similar to how the original did).
