News on the TV Series if Anyone Cares.

In a for better or worse predicament for fans of Star Wars, George Lucas is spearheading the program, and will be involved in the whole process for the show. As a benefit for this involvement, we are promised that every episode will be like a short film, with quality that we have never seen in an animated program (made for television) before.

...Because the original Clone Wars series just didn't suck enough, GL will step in and take care of this himself.

And don't worry...we have Steve Sansweet's promise that it'll be worth the wait. I'm amazed that the man has time to make promises, let alone appearances given his busy schedule of surgically fastening his lips to George Lucas puckered "outer rim".

"Among many things I have to be thankful for are you, the fans. I know that some of you haven't liked every single thing that I've done with the saga, and that you have a strong sense of ownership over all things Star Wars. But take that passion and devotion and channel it into a creative project of your own."

Yes, I'll watch it. But that doesn't mean that I'm thinking it will be great. My expectations for this show are pretty low to start with, so we'll see how it goes.

I will probably watch the first episode out of curiosity but if I think it stinks(which I hope doesnt) I wont bother again, now I dont my see myself being interested in Star Wars much longer so by the time its released I will more than likely not be frequenting forums to find out news so I will going in blind watching it, I dont like SCI-FI tv and will only watch the first episode because of the Star Wars name, so it will have to good to give me the remotest chance of sticking with the series.

I don't watch tv, and even if I did this sounds like pure crap to me. Sort of like the Lucas-family action figures that YIYF mentioned in another thread. Anything new in the Star Wars universe makes me want to vomit. It's probably time that I stopped caring.

I think the way in which the SW franchise will move into TV land is indicatative of its diminishing artistic ambitions.

So there
Don't you call me a mindless philosopher...!

I doubt it. I didn't watch the Clone Wars cartoon show, so I doubt if I'll be watching this. You fanboy doomsaying is tiresome. Get a new act. Might I suggest good-natured doormat?

Alas I probably will since it costs me nothing to do so. I’ve long been a sucker for all things Star Wars. I’m no longer willing to pay to have George and his cronies screw me, but I’m still willing to let them do it if they don’t charge me. I know I’m pathetic. It’ll probably be worth a good laugh if nothing else.

Come on... now people will think I'm a trekkie when I say I like Star Wars.

Do I *really* have to specify like this: "I am a fan of the (original) Star Wars Trilogy."?

My stance on revising fan edits.

Apparently, the original Star Wars trilogy doesn't exist anymore. Lucas's 10-year long battle to destroy it is all but complete.

LFL Marketing Punk: “We've analyzed their attack, sir, and there is a danger. Should I have the OOT cleaned up and released in anamorphic?”

GEORGE: “Anamorphic? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their love for the OOT!”

We can only hope that GL’s SE DVD(eath) Star blows up soon.

But do you think that there is a chance? Optimist that I normally am, I just don't know. In any case, even if it was anamorphic, there would still be other issues. I just wonder if they will ever give the OOT the treatment it deserves. The only ray of hope is Lucas's comments in the MTV interview, and even then we don't know if the DVDs will sell well. I guess that we should just cross our fingers and hope for the best. At this point, I don't know what to do anymore.

Lucas looks at the original film stocks of the OOT: "Wipe them out. All of them."

Fans: "NOOOOO!"

Um, no, I won't. Mind tricks don't work on me. Only quality entertainment, to which Star Wars no longer applies. I never intended to watch it. I'll never have any desire to. Unless I happen to be with a group of friends who all want to watch it, and they won't listen to my arguing, then I most likely will never see it. Nice try, Randy, but, once again, your short quips get you nowhere.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I'll watch it. Then again, I actually liked the Clone Wars series. I was hoping GL would keep his hands off it (things seem better when he's not actively involved), but I guess I'll just have to pray that he doesn't totally screw it up like everything else. I won't be paying for it, so the only thing I'll really be losing is my time and that's only if I just sit and watch it. I can always clean the house while it's on

Oh ok, so, the first series is set between AOTC and ROTS. Aparently there was a 90 year gap between those two films, because I thought Clone Wars 1 and 2 pretty much covered the whole period. So this is it folks, Star Wars has become Gilligan's Island. I can't wait until the episode in which Anakin meets the Globtrotters, or he has a dream in which he is in the Wild West.

Don’t you just love that? It’s not my Constitution either, but I have quite a bit invested in it and I get a little upset when someone comes along and tries to change it for the worse. I guess at least the Constitution was meant to be amended.
