My edits of all 7 films.

If anyone wishes to watch them - PM and I will send you the links. Took 20-25 out of each film, put alot of deleted footage back in. I haven’t seen any other fan edit besides the 2 phantom edits so this is all my own editing. My only gripe with the phantom edit was that just removing obviously bad things doesn’t make it a better film. I consider these workprints but I’m happy with the way they play out. I now love the prequel trilogy just as much as the originals. Above all, I wanted to keep George Lucas vision alive and help it along a bit. I kept the movies basically the same as they were intended (only shorter).

changes include:

The Phantom Menace - changed Jar Jar to Hindi and gave him proper english subtitles. This helps the movie SO much. I did hear about someone else doing something similar so this is not 100% my idea. I also removed all the extra stuff (extended shots, silly droid nonsense, jar jar shenanigans, lil ani nonsense - that kid did a GREAT job, Lucas just cut him all wrong and used the worst takes - and expository dialogue). I put more of the podrace BACK IN. The problems with these film are not fixed by just deleting things. Jaj Jar is a main character - you can’t just cut him out. Now he works, because now he’s not a complete tool. The Podrace is not BAD. It was surrounded by a bad movie. You’re bored and disinterested by the time it pops up and by then it’s just long and boring. Not anymore. I LOVE TPM now. Love it. 1hr 57 mins

Shroud of the Darkside - added all deleted footage back in (gave some of the scenes so missing music) of anakin and padme. Re-edited (poorly I admit - but it’s the only bad spot in the series) their love confession (worst dialogue ive ever hear in a movie, like ever) The problem with 2 is that you have to believe these two fall in love and Lucas goes and deletes all the love footage. Terrible move. The title Attak of the Clones is stupid - it should have been called Shroud of the Darkside. Now I feel I can at least buy that they feel something for each other. I love the wedding ending - the music is so great. In the theatrical you just couldn’t care less about these two. After fixing that, it was just editing the extra stuff out that was left. 1hr 58 mins

Revenge of the Sith. Added some deleted footage to the beginnig, and some other parts. I added/re-created the missing scene at the end with Quigon (without this scene the tilogy doesn’t come full circle), this scene should have been in the theatrical cut. Trimmed up the extras, and added Quigon in the ending to too. I put Yoda landing on Degobah and then quigon speaking to him. 2hrs

A New Hope. Just trimmed things, put the biggs scene back in. That should always have been in. Put Han shooting first back in, trimmed the extras and that’s it. Oh I also fixed up obi wans dialogue so it’s not all negating the prequels. I didn’t ‘do’ much the originals except for Jedi - even though I did cut 20 mins out of each too 2hrs

The Empire Strikes Back - Basically just trimmed some fat. This was the hardest to edit. Finding little stuff to cut to bring it down to 2hrs. BTW, imo 2hrs is roughly the max these movies should have been. 2hrs 3mins

Return of the Jedi - removed the dance number and put the original scene back in. This one I changed a great deal. I removed the ewok battle completely. I tried matching everything up best I could. That battle was fine for kids back in the day but wow is it ever bad… Trained soldiers getting beat by rock throwing muppets? No thanks. Plus it’s distracting. Now the movie ends with luke, vader and emps and the battle outside. Changed the ending a bit by inserting shots of padme as vader turns sides and added qui gon’s voice again (I f’ing LOVE this moment and it gives me chills every time). 2hrs 5 mins

The Force Awakens - Just trimmed the fat. This one was hard too. Just cut out all the silliness and american sterotype crap they had fin do and say “Droid, please!?” Yuck. 2hrs 5 mins

Like I said some parts are raw but considering I did this with free software on an old laptop…I’m pretty impressed. I compare them to workprints but I consider them more like blueprints. If only I had the real footage… I hope someone watches them, thank you.

I made these ‘for my father’ - who passed away 3 years ago. He loved the Star Wars movies, he watched them any and every time they were on tv. Even if he’d watched Jedi on monday and it was repeated on thursday - he’d watch it. Does’t matter where he came in lol… alot of times it might just be on in the background. Anyways, he sat through those godawful prequels so many times god bless him. Nobody should have to sit through those ever again. There are gems in those rocks. Once you ‘fix them’ they’re just as great as the rest. Enjoy (hopefully!)

PM me for the links

I consider my edits ‘blueprints’…not fan edits. They represent what could have been… 😉

What formats, file sizes, aspect ratios are these in?

I have 1.5 gb (roughly) versions that are 720x480 (avi)
(these are the google drive link versions)

the one’s I watch at home are roughly 4 gb versions and they’re 1280X720 (mp4)
the original versions were like 12 gb each but I have no room for files that big. They looked real nice.

A note though, I mentioned above that my edits are to be considered workprints because I cared about STORY more than a perfect looking fan edit. I didn’t get paid to do this, I just wanted better movies - so I made them. A few places use deleted footage that doesn’t look so hot but I hope people don’t care about stuff like that. These are blueprints for what COULD be done, the great movies we should have had. It doesn’t matter if they look pretty or not - trust me. Just the fact that Phantom Menace (and everything else aside form the originals) doesn’t suck anymore is mind blowing to me. Only wish my pops could have seen what I did. 😉

Thanks.

If you REALLY want to watch them, I’ll even MAIL copies to people. I just watched TPM again last night, still killer. Man did Lucas f’up a great thing. The man’s a genius, he knew ‘what’ he wanted - he shot everything he needed - he just got lost in excess and ego in the editing room. I’ve never seen poorer editing than the prequels. He just did everything wrong lol
