My apologies to the members of this forum.

As many of you have probably noticed, I haven't been frequenting these forums much lately.

The holidays are a busy time of year for everyone. Add in a new job and relocation, and they're even busier.

Still, as administrator of this site, it's my responsibility to maintain it, technically and socially--neither of which I've been doing.

During my lapse, it seems another troll has invaded the forum and, as a result, we may have lost a few of our members.

I offer my sincere apologies to those who have been driven away, and I would like to invite them back to a socially sound forum so they may continue to offer their valuable participation.

It appears zion has been nominated to be a moderator of the Original Trilogy Preservation forum. Since the members here would know better than anyone who is up to the task of maintaining order, I'll accept their opinions as valid and assign moderation duties to zion for the time being.

There are improvements I'd like to implement in other areas of the site too. The issue of funds must be addressed, however. I will be posting a separate topic in every forum about that. It may be time for me to make the request that every webmaster dreads asking of his visitors.

In the meantime, continue to enjoy the forum, and thanks to you for the contributions you make

Thanks for your support Jay. I'll do my best to help this place out and keep it a fun atmosphere that we can all enjoy.

Let this mark the end of the "dark times" and move on to "golden age" of OT preservation. I see nothing but great things ahead of us. I hope everyone is ready.

And let me be the first to say I'd be happy to contribute financially to this place. I honestly would have nowhere near the amount of support for my project that I do if not for this site.

My Projects:
[Holiday Special Hybrid DVD v2]
[X0 Project]
[Backstroke of the West DVD]
[ROTS Theatrical DVD]

Jay, I hope everything that is new and changed with your life has been working out smoothly. I just moved as well and know how hellish it can be.

Zion, congrats on the mod appointment and, Jay, thanks for being willing to assign a mod.

As for finances, I have no problem contributing what I can. This is the only forum I have ever joined that I have stuck with longer than just a couple of months. I've made some great friends here and would hate to see it go bye bye. Let us know what we can do.

And I, too understand Jay. With so much potiential around here, it was bound to happen. I will help out with whatever small effort I can. I just want you to know how much I appreciate having this place around, thanks to you, and I'm sure others feel the same way.

Jay,

For starters, you may wish to run a set of banner ads that link to star wars memorabilia on some of the larger sites like Amazon and AllPosters.com. I believe they have a program where you can receive a cut of monies received from sales referred from the site.

Hope this helps. There may be other sites that also have programs like this whose products would be relevant to our topics. I'm thinking hardware e-tailers, blank media e-tailers (Meritline?) and things like that. The more diligent among us could discipline ourselves to make that happen.

Of course, anybody with some pull in a good corporation's IT department may also chime in and offer some of your bandwidth. If I had it, I'd be the first to step up, but I'm no longer a corporate type.

I'll PM with some other ideas.

It'll cost you a pretty penny.

Now, we need to get Laserman to change his.

For anyone who was wondering, I've chosen a broken avatar on purpose, just to get the "picture not found" x-box thingy. Instead of yet another Laserdisc logo, or Yoda head, or what-have-you...

I'm amused by the fact that I actually was wondering. Now I do not have to do so.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I do not see a red "x". I see a torn peice of paper with a green circle, a blue square and pink triangle on it.

I do. I see the same thing as you. But I figured people would know better what I was talking about if I said "x-box thingy". (BTW, this is tab 11 in browser instance 4). And I find myself middle-button-clicking stuff outside of Firefox, because that's such a good feature.

Already there, man. IE and Netscape are dead. Thankfully.

It's a portrait of George Lazenby done by artist Jeff Marshall.
