I don’t know if I’ve seen Two Fiery Assholes. Is it the one about the two rageaholic jerks or the one about the two guys who go to a Mexican restaurant?

You are thinking of the sequel, Two Fiery Assholes, a Girl, and a Pizza Place.

Dune. Prometheus. Maybe Into Darkness, but I haven’t seen it in two years, so who knows. Do people think Barbarella is bad? Because I really like Barbarella. Wet Hot American Summer has a terrible Rotten Tomatoes score, but I can’t get my head around anyone not loving that movie. The Chronicles of Riddick is definitely considered a stinker, right? How do we feel about Conan the Barbarian? I liked The Woman in Black, too, as well as every Shyamalan movie through Lady in the Water. If you can’t tell, my tolerance for middling scifi/fantasy is much higher than other genres. I can’t think of any universally loathed indie dramedies or crime procedurals that I dug.

I love both Halloween III: Season of the Witch and the Man with the Golden Gun, which are both generally considered to be the worst of their respective franchises. I know they aren’t objectively good movies, but I still love them.

One movie that I don’t necessarily like so much as moderately enjoy that everyone absolutely hates is Alien 3. I thought it was ok, not good by any means but still interesting. By the way, I am talking about the theatrical cut of Alien 3. I know a lot of people like the assembly cut version more; I have the blu ray anthology set so I’ll be checking it out soon.

The Man with the Golden Gun is considered to be worse than Die Another Day? It must be more than a decade since I’ve seen that one, but I don’t remember hating it.

I don’t think the woman in black is considered bad. And I liked it as well.

Die Another Day is my least favorite film in the series, but a lot of people would rank Man with the Golden Gun very poorly

Well add that one to my list as well because The Man with the Golden Gun is my favorite Roger Moore Bond flick.

If anyone does, my boot will go on a date with their backside.

I seem to remember it getting really tepid reviews. My sister and I (and evidently you) liked it, but I don’t actually think I’ve ever talked to anyone else who’s seen it.

It’s got a fresh rating on RT, don’t remember what the average rating was though.

I enjoyed Max Payne. It wasn’t a masterpiece, but I thought it was enjoyable.

The Assembly Cut total changes the tone and feel of the film… In a good way. It goes from being a ‘meh’ monster film to a strange, meandering story of faith, loss and sacrifice. It still has some issues, but it definitely feels like Ficher’s unique take on the alien and not a retread of the 1st film.

I too quite enjoyed Man with the Golden Gun. Maybe just because I like the villain so much but IMO its one of the better Moore flicks.

I also kinda like Moonraker. It’s silly (and it totally ruined the character of Jaws) but I can’t bring myself to really dislike it too much. It’s pretty entertaining, I think.

Moonraker is one of those movies that is more cute than exciting. It’s just a fun Star Wars ripoff with a spy in it, and I really like it. I don’t know what Man with the Golden Gun was supposed to be but it is just so wonderfully bizarre I can’t help but love it. Christopher Lee’s performance is one of the best in the franchise as well.

The Phantom Menace. Somehow it has drilled it’s way into my heart.

Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 I actually like better than the first film and the second. A lot consider it as dull, boring, and not enough action. I’d say, that was its strength! First film understandably focused on the child killing game that pretty everyone knows about, and that’s basically what we got in that film. Second film, it started unweave and when it did, I loved it! Then with Mockingjay Part 1, I found that it had the right amount of tension going on, especially since less focus was put on the “hunger games”!

I haven’t seen Part 2 yet though, so all that Part 1 built up for me could go down the drain. I’m just saying out of those 3 films I mentioned, the third gets less praise when arguably, it did the best all around for the franchise.

I think I’ll have to add Alien Resurrection to the list. It was probably the worst Alien film, not counting the AvP movies, but it had some good scenes, like the underwater chase, acting was pretty good, particularly Ron Perlman as the narcissistic asshole Johner, and Brad Dourif as the mad scientist Gediman. Pretty good, certainly better than what would come next.

Not enough people read the EU.

I know this post is almost a month old, but since when were these considered bad. I love all of these movies. HEAD is a favorite of mine in particular, fantastic film.

Well if you were to go by Rotten Tomatoes scores…

Dune - 56%
Casino Royale (1967) - 29%

Those 2 would fit the definitions. But the other two wouldn’t…

Big Trouble in Little China - 83%
HEAD - 75%

^^Well I guess it just so happened that the only RT scores that I remembered at that moment were the latter two. And I thought that Dune was regarded as a classic, albeit straying from the novel.
