I just finished watching it and I must say that I'm very impressed. I've also realized what a pain it must have been to get this edited and synced together. Great job, MoveAlong. In my vast collection, this is definitely a personal favorite.

I am already anticipating Empire and Jedi, although I understand that you will wait for the official DVD release. Then again, seeing how good your Story of Star Wars turned out, that may not really be necessary.

I should say, the cover is definitely different but I'm sure the recording is not. There is a picture of the booklet on the back cover and it looks exactly the same as the original one as well.

I have two other, regular copies of this as well: the original, well-played and well-scratched copy that I owned back in 1977 or 78, and one I picked up around 1989 or 90 that I think was also sealed in plastic. I remember being pleased that I found one I could play without the scratches, so it definitely has been opened and played since, but being a record collector at that point I took much better care of it. I'm sure I'll pick up the picture disc someday.

And then there was the Star Wars soundtrack. Oddly enough, instead of getting the original soundtrack record for me for a birthday or Christmas present, my aunt bought me the Electric Moog Orchestra version instead by mistake. In the end I'm glad she did, because it was way weirder than the real soundtrack, and contributed to my unique Star Wars childhood in the same way I think that seeing the Holiday Special air long before I ever saw the films did. It also probably explains a few things about my... personality.

To everyone awaiting their copies, I just mailed out 20 of them. They should be in your hands within the week . If Citizen, russs15, Metallaxis, and INv8r_ZIM give me their mailing addresses, I'll send those copies out as well.

Myspleen is back up, I see!

digitalfreaknyc has offered to post this torrent there. I hope he does. He should have his copy in a few days. So, hopefully it will be available to the masses soon. I'll help and seed when it goes up. Maybe those who got it from absw could help as well?

Those of you who are bandwidth challenged, just PM me.

This is absolutely stunning and a must have for any Star Wars DVD collection!!!!!!

The on screen video and still images fit perfectly with the audio of the original Story of album and is what every kid in 1977 dreamed of whilst listening to the album.

GL could take this, add a Lucas Film logo at the start and release this as it is - in fact, he could learn a thing or two as well.

Bring on Empire and Jedi NOW!!

There are both regular Amaray & slim covers and disc label in the DVD_ROM directory, all in high quality TIFF format.
Overall, a very impressive package indeed.
Great job MoveAlong!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I'm glad everyone's digging it. I think it turned out pretty good. But when you're so close to something for SO long, you lose perspective. I'm actually kind of getting pumped up to start Empire now, but I told myself I'd wait until the OUT is out (no pun intended). Anyway, hopefully this will make it to myspleen soon so more people can enjoy it.

I'd love to read some reviews if anyone would care to do so...

I'll do a review for you .

Packaging: 10/10
Great Cover art that fits it well, nice summary on the back, and very professional looking disc label.
Menu: 10/10
Great menus, very easy to get around, nice use of moving footage. They definately looked like official ones
Editing: 10/10
Excellent editing, just amazing. Everything synced up perfectly with the footage. Nice use or sources to remove ugly SE's element. Although that was noticable it still looked great. I saw matte lines but for this edit I thought that they were very fitting so they didn't bug me. I like the focusing on the still images and things like that. Very fitting for the content. I loved the title crawl, and credit. Very simple and nice looking.

Overall this project is jsut amazing, I was very impressed . Definately enjoyable, every Star Wars fan needs this on there shelf.

This was also my first time getting a fan edit by disc, it came very soon. Thank You alot MoveAlong. Also I was so suprised that it came with a Case and everything. I thoguht I was just gonna get a dvd-r with sharpie writing saying the name in a cover less CD case lol.

I'm also very excited for ESB and ROTJ!

EDIT: I forgot the DVD-Rom stuff haha.
DVD-Rom: 10/10 The radio drama, the audio, Mp4 version for an Ipod, disc art, scans of the records art, and more. It was just perfect content for this edit.

Hi MoveAlong,

My first post on this forum, thanks for having me

I used to listen to that LP too when I was very young. I had never seen the movie but my grandmother gave me a few star wars toys and I had a poster in my room. I had to make a movie in my head while listening to the LP. And now you made pictures to go with the sound! I hope I can see it soon! Can you tell me if this will be on my speen soon??
