I guess I’m insane too then because I really don’t care for Batnolan.

Yeah but it’s basically as far as super hero movies went so far. You could argue Iron Man or even Spider Man 2 if you really want to, but that’s about it for me.

Ok.

I prefer Batburton but ok.

Black Panther - 7/10

Very enjoyable experience overall! Best Marvel villain yet in my books, the Wakandka sections were fascinating and it was led by a great performance of Chadwick Boseman. I felt that it’s pacing was a bit off at a certain point in the film where I felt more time should have been taken to show a certain section but nevertheless, everything still worked well enough. CGI was also a bit off at some points and the story was a bit derivative. But for a marvel film, it was fun and refreshing.

Finally got around to Phantom Thread. It was excellent.

Drive (2011)

This is my favorite movie of all time. Before I first saw it I thought that nothing could trump Empire. I was wrong. 10/10

The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)

Can’t go wrong with a Ryan Gosling crime movie. The first bit was completely great but the quality slowly declined in the latter half. Overall 7.5/10.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)

It’s a really messed up film about God and the devil. I think. I’m not sure.

8/10

Being There (1979)

Mister Roberts (1955)

The Black Stallion (1979)

All are excellent to varying degrees. My favorite would have to be The Black Stallion.

Makes sense to me. He didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.

It was a joke because I love the movie and think it’s brilliant and was like “how do you not love it?” but of course it’s more than ok for him not to love it.

Black Panther just now. I think it was my first MCU movie since Winter Soldier. It was fine. I thought the story was pretty by-numbers, but I found most of the characters very appealing and I really dig everything about Wakanda. With any luck the inevitable sequel will get a little more adventurous with the plotting. These characters deserve it. Except Michael B. Jordan, who I thought was really terrible. If I didn’t already know who he was and this was the first thing I saw him in, I would have guessed he was a musician or something who hadn’t done a lot of acting. I remember his name being thrown around for Star Wars a couple years ago and this movie made me glad that nothing ever came of it.
