Lol most of the people in the bands we’ve talked about are at LEAST in their 40’s. Morbid Angel’s first album was 1988, Kreator’s album we’ve discussed was in 1986, Slayer started in 1983.
That being said, just because I happen to enjoy thrash and death metal does not mean I don’t also listen to other types of music, and I don’t even consider it one of my favorite types of music. I just enjoy it some, and have commented on Lord Haseo’s posts about it simply because I don’t know anybody else that enjoys them.
Stevie Ray Vaughan is my favorite musician of all time, one of my favorite bands is Led Zeppelin. I enjoy slow blues and classic rock such as LZ, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith and the like.
Also one of my favorite bands is Collective Soul, a pop/rock band.
I love so much music outside of metal.

Well most of them made their music while they were in their teens - mid 20’s before they fell off or stopped making music.

If I had to pick an absolute favorite musician it would have to be (predictably) John Williams. I’ve heard a lot of different stuff from a lot of different genres but the artistry and consistency is unmatched compared to John William soundtracks. On the topic of metal, the argument that thrash is just noise is somewhat valid. Constructed and organized noise but lets not pretend there’s deep meaning or composition.
