yes, I did it! The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Book-Cut!
…
It’s just like the TTT book cut that it follows the story in the book’s way of showing things…

Please note that I have changed a few things in it too…
I cut some stuff out and trimmed them to be shorter (usually talk scenes)
but don’t worry! Disc 1 is the Fellowship’s (minus Frodo and Sam’s) journey and that means the uncut Siege of Gondor!

here are a few things I’ve changed for the ROTK Book Cut…

The Siege of Gondor is darkened to add a little more ominousness to it… (because quite frankly, I hate those vivid bright colors for the Siege)

And the Witch-King’s scene is darkened and shadowed… to make him scarier and stuff…

It's a typo. Sauron's defeat was the end of The Third Age.

awwwww crap....

I misspelled it and I am totally embarrased... ah man.... thanks for pointing that out... now I can change it...

and I haven't but will soon post the TTT cut...

and the "The Journey Continues with Frodo's Journey" bit is really amateurish and dumb sounding... I'll change that too.

I recently re-read the book for the first time since I saw the films and thought to myself 'there's no way this would work as a film if it were shot in book order'. Still, I'd be interested to watch it.

No need to shrink it (afaic anyway). If I can handle an 11.5 gig Blade Runner download, I can handle these easily!

The version that was recently posted to myspleen. It's a two DVD set with the first disc being a dual layer DVD that was made from an HD broadcast of Blade Runner. I haven't compared the quality with my retail DVD, but from what everyone else is saying, it puts it to shame.

87% completely....

There still are a few Elves in the background... and I had to leave the Aragorn/Elf charge at the Uruks
in the movie for the sake of action/drama highlights... took out close-ups of the elves.. all of them...
those pointy-eared freaks...

that's what I'm currently planning on (sorry guys I REALLY want to upload the TT and ROTK movies I did and am trying to do that)
And I see not much to be edited... except the saruman sub-plot that needs to be refurbished...

so what else is there to edit in FOTR?

I'm working on one. Changing the Saruman story (like you), restoring Aragorn's broken sword (with some keyframing), removing any Gimli buffoonery, a couple of things to the council of Elrond. Gotta upload my Two Towers as well... I'm rather proud of it.
