I doubt it. The 1st remake stank. If you ask me it was on remake too many. The original King Kong is enough.

Only if I'm INCREDIBLY bored and willing to throw money away. I will only see another Peter Jackson movie if he goes back to his "Bad Taste" and "Brain Dead/Dead Alive" years, back to his gory movies. Then I will freaking CAMP outside the theater to see it.

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. Perhaps another case of language barrier might be ocurring here. What would be the correct verb if one is waiting outside, in a line, for days, like some did with SW prequels?

I will see it. I think it will be good. I'll probably even buy the DVD.

But I do think it's an unnecessary expenditure of millions of dollars when it's a bona-fide remake of the 1933 movie, characters, structure and all. Even if the script, acting, and FX are all PJ-worthy, it still begs the question: Why go where we've gone (twice) before?

I just wish we could get more original ideas in Hollywood, even original ideas involving familiar characters.
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

Do you ever wonder why they always remake classic movies and often screw them up in the process but never try taking a movie that had a good idea but turned out bad and remaking it so it's good?
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

I think the trailer to Kong looks great. Jackson showed with the LOTR that he could have special effects, characterization, and acting that work together.

The reason why nobody remakes movies that didn't work is because no one would put up financing for that movie. King Kong has name recognition even for people who have never seen the original.

I have often wondered the same thing. Perhaps one day in the future someone will listen to your advice and remake the PT.

Let's see if I can think of good examples, bad movies remade into god movies...

"Beau Geste", the 1939 version is way better than the crappy silent film one
Same for "Ben Hur", the Chalrton Heston one compared to the old one
"Thomas Crown Affair", I think the remake is better than the original

Hmn.... Uh... Can't think of any other example right now.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Fortunately, I've been tracking the MANGLER BROS. INC. thread, so at least I know what you're talking about.
