King Kong a la Peter Jackson

Author
Time
Okay, here's a thread for PJ's next film King Kong. As many of you may already know, Naomi Watts has been cast in the role once played by Fae Wray (the damsel in distress) and I'm sure she'll be good at it. However, I just heard news that Jack Black has been cast as Kong's keeper. Why do I not see Black in this role? Am I the only one having difficulty with this?

I think if Jackson can restrain Black's tendencies on set, this could actually work.Remember the wonderful job Peter Weir did with Jim Carrey in The Truman Show?

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

True. But by the time Carrey did Truman, he was looking for a change and had been able to expend a lot of his manic energy in a ton of films. Black has only headlined, what, two films (Shallow Hal and School of Rock)? I just don't know that he's developed the post-manic-comedy-need-for-dramatic-flair bug yet.

He has a hang up on John Wayne spaghetti westerns and ape movies?

Can't be that he's a fellow countryman of yours since he was born in Jacksonville, FL. I suppose he could be of Polish heritage.

Lets hope the girl doesn`t scream each time KK appear

She can scream all she wants so long as it's Naomi Watts doing said screaming. She's one for the Beautiful Women thread.

An ape with an apetite!

(no, I didn't say "ape tit" )

@Bossk: warm, warm

Stay on target, Merian! The producer/director/writer of King Kong also played a pilot (hint! hint!) of the plane which "scored" the ape kill.

If those hints are not enough to yeld a viable answer (via Yahoo or Google ), I'll finally give a link that explains everything

If you use Windows, there is always Character Map tool

OK, here's the solution to my riddle:

Merian C. Cooper wasn't flying just in the movie, he was a real pilot, during World War 2 he served on Pacific Theatre of Operations, earning a rank of general in USAF. But that's not everything, shortly after WWI he founded a certain fighter squadron... which one? The answer is on USAF Museum webpage.

You want me to try take out the big KK with just a pistol !!??!! Well, if that's what it takes to join your ranks, I'll do it. But I will have to think for awhile on how best to carry this out. This must be done with the utmost caution.
Author
Time
ok, here goes nothing

*Warber aims carefully the right eye BANG!!, Then does same with other eye BANG!!. The big ape is now blind. He is enraged and reaches out randomly to find the culpit. Warbler dodges out of the way*

WARNING this next part is not for the faint of heart. what I am about to do is cruel but I can see no other way than to aim for the weak spot.....

*Warber aims pistol at groin BANG!! BANG!!. The big kk let out a very high pitched screem and falls to the ground , doubled over in pain. Warble empties the pistol into kk. He loads does it again. He reloads and aims for the heart, and again empties pistol into ape. Blood now gushes out everywhere and the big ape blind and in pain is no longer able to move. Warbler mercilessly reloads and empties gun in ape again, and again and again and again......This goes on for about an hour until the ape(now looking more like swish cheese the ape) finaly gives up the ghost. Warble then goes home and takes shower to rinse off blood of ape and change clothes, the old clothes drenched in blood must be thrown away*

play Godfather music here

If you like I can arrange to have the dead ape brought to Mangler HQ.

Well, was that good enough for the Mangler Bros?

oh yeah, one last thing

*Warbler returns pistol to Motti* I wouldn't want Motti to get angry at me for stealing it.

I guess motti just said that he uses a combo, like Alt+e or Ctrl+e to get é, è. I use standard keyboard (about 10 years old, LOL) and I still can type all those fancy Polish letters, like ó (unfortunately you won't see them unless the html page has correct code page as they're not in original ASCII set)

But I think international keyboards allow you to punch a key with the accent mark (or inverted one), the umlaut, or a tilde in combination with a letter. Those keys (save for the tilde) do not exist on keyboards here in the States at all. We have to do the alt + a 3 or 4 number combination to achieve these characters. Even if the actual keys don't exist, just the fact that motti's keyboard allows him to achieve these characters with only two keys punched is still a step up on how we have to do it here in the States.

I had a friend who had an international keyboard that had all those characters on it. It was a while back though.
