Justice League - Crisis on Two Earths Potential (* unfinished project *)

Essentially it is late, I am tired, and I have not followed this forum as closely as I have in years past, so this post will be on the shorter side.

Depending on how much you know, basically here is the deal. There were two seasons of the regular Justice League TV show (I loved them, they were awesome). At the end of this show’s second season, Hawkgirl got temp-banned, and officially that series ended. It was continued with Justice League Unlimited. This essentially just had more characters, and wasn’t only focused on the main group. (Hawkgirl eventually came back).

So they had this idea. A movie to bridge the regular TV show and this new Unlimited TV show. For budget reasons, it was scrapped. It got resurrected, rewritten, and is now what you see as Crisis on Two Earths. (Correct me if I am wrong on anything here, I am writing off memory and what I have heard).  It is however, supposed to be unconnected in any way with the TV show (damn shame).

As I just watched it, however, it is painfully obvious that it was meant to bridge the two TV series. Hawkgirl is gone (with supposedly a reference to her still remaining, [not sure about that], but on the whole all mention of her completely gone). The Watchtower, which was destroyed in the regular TV show series two finale is being rebuilt in Crisis on Two Earths. The transporter thingies are being worked on (I guess they come into the Unlimited Series? Not sure on that one…)

Finally, Crisis on Two Earths ends with more members being recruited to the League, which is just the most blatant evidence I feel that it was supposed to bridge the two series, because Unlimited has far more members present in its League.

So that is the background. The idea I have is to do some fan-editing magic to basically undo the redos they did, and keep it fitting with the TV show and bridging the two series. I think this would be awesome, and make me far happier. I would love to see this done. The problem being that 1) I do not think I have the requisite skills 2) I do not think I have the requisite time, now that I am in college with the real-world looming (scary).

There are also problems:

1)The movie uses the white (Caucasian) Green Lantern. The TV show has the African American one. How the hell would this be fixed? If at all? Could the actual picture itself be edited to fix this?

  1. Voices are different… Not too big a deal I guess?

  2. How would more Hawkgirl references get worked in?

Things going for it:

  1. All the built in similarities and tie ins

  2. It’s animated… I suppose this would help, over real actors?

  3. I really want to see this happen

Potential ideas I have:

  1. Have flashbacks to the regular TV show season 2 finale (Starcrossed). Get some more Hawkgirl references in

  2. Perhaps incorporate flashbacks to the TV show 2-parter named “Justice Lords” I believe. They are a very similar storyline, so a reference to it could be justified.

Man, this was really just a brain dump, I’m not sure if I made sense, but I just wanted to get ideas out, see if anyone had any other suggestions, and to see if anyone had any interest in attempting this.

So any thoughts?

May the Force be with you.

Or the easy way...just pretend it's set between the two shows.   Changes like the different voice actors and having Hal instead of John don't matter when it's all pretend.  :)

I'm afraid to admit it, but I loved the JL series.  I'll have to check out Crisis and see how disappointing it is...

I do like the idea of a fix though.  Maybe using scenes from the end of JL and the beginning of JLU could help?  It's been a long time though, so I don't have a lot of that straight anymore.

@Uncanny Antman: See it's so close I can pretty much do that, but I would love to go that extra step and make it so I don't have to work and can just enjoy it and have it with continuity.

@Doctor M: Don't be afraid to admit it, that show was legitimately awesome! And I'll be honest, Crisis wasn't that much of a disappointment, I think in large part because I could so easily imagine that it DID branch the regular and unlimited seasons.

I don't know much about the JLU... Do you have any particular scenes in mind?
