Hello I am New To the Forum but have been reading it for years and i signed the petition back in 2004 i did join a while back but i completely forgot my login info and the email address i used is now defunct…anyway i am rambling,
The real reason i am posting is, I have in my possession the Collectors Edition for Johnny Got His Gun from France that has the best restoration of any dvd on the market now, since i am a huge fan of this film i also have the Laserdisc edition that is an ALTERNATE CUT of the film it has extended scenes in it(More on these later) and as an added bonus i have the Japanese Laserdisc of Metallicas Two of One Video the has the full music video for one with the movie scenes and dialog in it. Well i am considering doing a preservation of this material but since the dvd is PAL, i would like to know what is the best method to convert the media to NTSC.
Also since this forum has proven to have the best advice and people capable of doing this dvd, i welcome any advice, ideas, and other help about the dvd. I would like this to be a group effort but i am not shy about going it alone and then having the finished project critiqued, i am posting this for those interested is all. I look forward to hearing from all of you. thank you in advance.
P.S. Anybody doing a Wizard of Oz and Pink Floyd Sync I have the Mobile Fidelity 24 Karat CD original pressing of dark side of the moon which i hear is the only one worth owning.
thanks again,

Any movement on this?
I found an xvid copy of this on a site (700mb x2) and downloaded it. look 2:35 and gorgeous. There are some parts where you hear audio and there are still frames in the shot. Since I haven't seen the full version of this, I am not sure if this is how the original film was. I do not know if it is pal or ntsc either (I have since burned it off to dvd for archival purposes)
