JOHN WILLIAMS: Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi Remastered/Remixed Edition (Released) — Page 2

Ah OK, but am I correct to assume the other number omissions are mistakes?

If you think that in the future you may be releasing another track, maybe this isn't ready for primetime/release just yet. Skipping a track number is inelegant. With you permission I'd much rather renumber the tracks and specify that this is v 1.0 of the set or something.

It doesn't matter to me anyway (yet) since every single link I was given is dead.  I'd like to have this.  Someday.  :)

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

Thats for the future, if I find the film version of Lapti Nek with vocals.

I think that will be tough. Apparently, the original recording is lost (ie, no one can find it anywhere in the recording vaults).

That's correct.  I have preserved the vinyl releases for these from factory sealed copies, which was tough and took a long time.  Unfortunately, the film version of Lapti Nek has NEVER been released, making the film itself the only source.

Was going through correcting some of the misspelt tags and came across:

"10. Jabba's Sail Bail Barge (Part 2) [Source] (1:22)"

Is the world 'Bail' there intentional or some weird autocorrect or something that should be cut out?

Other than that I fixed "Jabba's Prisoner's" to "Jabba's Prisoners", "More Troube" to "More Trouble" and one or two other such obvious misspellings.

Alright guys, everybody that already has this set, and people who could not access the links pay attention!

I had to redo this set a bit, some of the SE cues were done a bit differently when I first started this set, than when I got close to the end, I have redone those now.

I have also EQ'ed a few cues that I forgot to EQ (Jedi Rocks and Jabba's Sail Barge Part 1)

Also, In the previous version, there was an overlay in the SE that was not present in the Anthology track, which I used, so that has been restored.

the new links will probably go up on the Firey Media desk.

I'm glad my instinct not to share paid off then...looking fwd to the needs versions. have you considered, btw, using abcs sound salvage as a source?

I have, and I figured they were the same as I was doing, taking the tracks from the anthology and mixing them with the SE's?

I think your remastering goal is different than ABC's though. I don't think he tried to take Return of the Jedi and make it sound more like a standard 80s score.

They're on the spleen dude. You should definitely give them a listen.

If you need a spleen invite i'll give you one.

Thanks for volunteering this project for inspection.

I was going to mention the numbering but as that's been mentioned already...

It will take me a time to give this a good listen, I'll get back to you when I've given it a thorough listen.

I really love the sound of this fishmanlee, you brought lot of buried instruments out from under the old CD haze.  I especially enjoy hearing the theremin like sound in the background of track 14 "Faking the Code", it and other more subtle background instruments seem brighter and more upfront now.  Having said that I must say that I'm not crazy about your alterations to track 27 "Leia Breaks The News-Funeral Pyre For A Jedi", and I don't know if it flows very well, but it is your project and your very hard work, so it's still cool, and the originals are on the 2nd disc.

Speaking of the unchanged tracks, I haven't had time to listen to them carefully yet, but have you improved their sound as well, or did you leave them alone?  I hope you did.

I did notice that  "27 Leia Breaks The News-Funeral Pyre For A Jedi (Film Version)" just has the film version of the funeral pyre music and not both, as some versions do.  I don't remember which of the releases has the version with both, but I think it's kind of neat to have each of them one after the other.

There is one request I have, and I hate to trouble you with it, but if you do another pass on this set would it be possible for you to extend your Blu-Ray rip of the space battle all the way through the destruction of the death star?  I have never found this track without the rejected and, in my opinion, emotionally wrong bit of music that play's just as the Falcon approaches the reactor room.  I would love to get this track with the film version.

Anyway, yours is the version of this that I may listen to from now on.  Thanks man!

Now I need to contact you about your Empire Strikes Back recordings and see what you did there.

That is music taken from ESB, "Losing A Hand/Hyperspace" I think

Yep, that's right.  For some reason all the official releases use the rejected version.

Wow, great job pulling clarity out of that "other" original Jabba's band music played when they take Chewy away. Is that from the Editdroid iso score or did you get it from Making of a Saga directly?

I'm really very VERY interested in this. However, I would love it if you would include the film version of Lapti Nek with vocals.
