G’day from Australia. Since you have been doing the Star Wars Trilogy of Storybook LPs, I suddenly realised that I friend had some, if not all, of the Indiana Jones Storybook LPs, some of which I know I recorded onto tape (I remember distinctly having taped IJ2-ToD because I couldn’t get that annoying blonde screaming her dialog all the time out of my head etc). This would mean that IJ1 should also be there too, however I’m not sure if they ever did one for IJ3. So, until I physically hunt through my tape collection, I will risk everything by saying that I probably have all three of these Storybook LP recordings.
So, pending my confirmation of the existence of these recordings in my possession, I am wondering if you would like to take on the challenge of creating your famous video montages based on these 45 minute voice-over laden audio productions of the Indiana Jones Trilogy (bar one) in the vein of your spectacular (suck suck) Star Wars efforts. I’m sure a few fans out there would be keen on these.
btw, the tapes I used to record the original LPs were actually specialised computer-data Phillips cassettes (which were specifically designed to be the best available purely for the purposes of backing up data from mainframes), so the usually inherent problems of warble, wow and flutter are substantially minimised. I can’t be sure if I used Dolby NR to record them at the time, but I will undoubtably turn this feature on the tapedeck when transferring them to PC. If you any other suggestions as to how I can further improve the analog-to-digital transfer (hardware or software) then please let me know. I will let you know in a couple of days which ones I indeed have in my possession once I visit my parents house where I left these tapes in their trust. Take it easy. WG.
