That's only the kids though all the teachers and adults usually have fairly good costumes, while at Hogwarts their uniforms look good.

I'm currently re-reading Deathly Hallows and came across a discrepancy. Checking the Harry Potter Wiki, it turns out there is no discrepancy, but a deleted scene from Deathly Hallows is wrong because of this.

Thought this might be interesting to know before reinserting the scene.  It might be worth muting her saying the spell, making it looks like she does it non-verbally.

http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Memory_Charm said:

In Chapter 9 of Deathly Hallows, just prior to erasing Antonin Dolohov and Thorfinn Rowle's memories, Hermione says that she has never performed a Memory Charm before, despite having already altered her parents' memories.[8] However, J. K. Rowling has said this was a different charm[3], which alters memories rather than removes them.

Despite Rowling's statement that the charm Hermione used on her parents was not the same, in the Part 1 film adaption, Hermione uses the actual Memory Charm to eradicate her mother and father's memories of her.
However, it all still fits in as in the film Hermione doesn't say she hasn't used it before.
Either symbolically or by actual magic, when Hermione performed the charm on her parents, all images of her in their family pictures were erased as well.

This thread is a bit old but I hope you’re still working on your project.
If you are, I have several promo DVDs for the 2nd and 3rd films that have unreleased material on them not present on any VHS/DVD/BD releases that you may be interested in.

Work on the is on hold while I work on other projects higher on my priority list, but I haven’t given up on it yet. I plan to get back into it after other things are finished. I occasionally do some work on it during periods where I can’t work on my other projects.

Certainly shoot whatever you have my way 😃 can’t say when I’ll be able to put it into use though.

Thank you for the interest 😃 I have recently watched Sorcerer’s Stone again just the other day and have a lot of ideas for this going forward.

Work is still slow and steady only being worked on in my spare time when I can’t work on other projects, but as work on disc one of my Star Wars bluray set draws nearer to a close, and with the remaining discs being a much easier, quicker task, work on this should pick up soon.

The wand replacement is what is the hardest and the stuff that takes the longest time to get looking right, especially since I’ve been utilizing still images for it; and as such, it’s the side of this project I have not been able to devote hardly any time to with my other projects and real life getting in the way. But I plan on using a small chunk of my tax refund money to purchase some noble collection wands so I have more versatility in the wand replacement for the first two films.

Ok, since my Star Wars BD project is largely technical stuff at this point, I have a lot more free creative energy to focus on this.

I have a Harry noble collection wand ordered and it should ship shortly. I have a friend who owns a hermione noble collection wand so for the few shots with her wand visible I can use that. The one or two shot in the film with voldemort’s wand should be simple enough to do with still images cut out from later films so I’m not really worried about that, plus the noble collection Voldemort wand is not super accurate, so I would need to pretty heavily modify it for use anyways. Thankfully Ron’s wand is broken in Chamber of Secrets, so it makes sense for it to be different in Prisoner of Azkaban, so I don’t need to worry about that one.

One thing I would like to do with this project is fix continuity errors (the wand replacement being a big part of that), so if anyone knows of any in Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone please let me know.

I’m already thinking about the possibility of replacing the fat lady portrait with one more consistent with the later films, but I’m not sure if it’s really do-able. We’ll see.

Sounds like this is an insanely complex project and I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Still on my to-do list. Occasionally I get a chance to do some experimenting. I’ve just gotten very busy with real life work, and I have other personal projects as well, so I don’t work on this much.

This looks unbungalievably authentic by the way 😃 How are you able to accomplish reinserting the wands? Also, a friend of mine actually re scores ALL of the post John Williams Harry Potter movies with Williams’ Harry Potter/Non-Harry Potter music. You can check out his channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCD3AtGBVjmIohWjs6oc2XTg/feed

You and or anyone doing a project like this should also use some of John Williams’ Harry Potter and even similar sounding Non Harry Potter music in moments without music and or where it would have been better suited than the movie’s actual score. I’m also planning on doing some myself 😃

Bonus feature Supplemental DVDs similar to the ALIEN Appendix releases? Hopefully these can also be BD25 but with SD content or DVD9s.

Yes, I didn’t grow up reading Harry Potter, literally couldn’t have since I was a 1980’s kid and was a teen/adult in the 1990’s, but became a fan of the series because of a friend has all 8 movies on Blu-ray disc. Marathoned them too.
Wonder if anyone, ADM mebbe?, will make a custom Extended Edition for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Part 1 and if it’d be properly HD to boot. The Blu-ray disc release has many deleted scenes. 11 of them running 14m 33s. English Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 or English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 though?

I know it’s a lot to ask for, but could we replace the old Flitwick in the first two movies with the new one?

Another daunting request would be including Dobby in some of the other movies. I know he was there in the books, and of course we can’t quite restore his full role, but it’d be nice if he didn’t just show up to die. The problem is that we have so little footage it’d be hard to even repurpose what we have. I don’t think it’s doable.

Old and new Flitwick? They’re all Warwick Davis.
I was always more annoyed by the kids wearing track suits, sneakers and other casual clothing in the later films.
Wizards in the Potter books wore robes and outlandish clothes at all times.

By that logic, Griphook is also Flitwick (but only in DH). I mean, come on, these two look nothing alike. Personally, my headcanon is that the young one is the old one’s nephew, but really, it’d be nice to just have the young one in all the movies.

We should adjust Richard Harris’s voice to sound more like Michael Gambon’s.

I never noticed the change in wands. I just looked it up and apparently they changed in PoZ, yet another thing that was drastically changed in that movie. I swear it’s almost like they rebooted the series. Anyway, does somebody have some comparison pics for all the wands that were changed?, 'cause I can’t find any.

Darth Lucas, I suggest you change the title of this thread to better reflect its direction. The title calls them Special Extended Editions, but extending the movies doesn’t appear to be the goal, nor does adding dinosaurs stepping in front of the camera. Given that you yourself compared the goal of this project to that of Star Wars Revisited, maybe Harry Potter Revisted? Oh wait, someone already used that title.

We should try replacing the no name Slytherin in the fiendfyre scene with Crabbe, as was originally intended. We can just get a lookalike and rotoscope him onto the original scene, avoiding closeups.

I can live with the idea of a magic makeover. Doesn’t bother me.

Hey. Wow, it’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it? Add this to the list of projects I started but never finished. Well, do know this idea has never left my mind. I’ve been experimenting on and off with how to make certain ideas a reality. The main difficulty has been the wand replacement idea. I thought I could accomplish this in a much simpler fashion than turned out to be feasible. However, I’ve been learning a lot with 3D modeling and really honing my visual effects skills, and I think I’ve figured out a way to accomplish it.

While this project is far from completely dead, it’s really evolved from my original idea, and I think it’s best to approach it on a film by film basis, rather than trying to tackle all of them simultaneously. As such, this thread will be pushed to the side and, at some point, I will create new threads to follow the progress of my HP project and the new direction they’ve gone.
