Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well.  My problem, not yours.

Jedi's finished. I'll be encoding soon. I'm currently working on adjusting the Czech dub to it.

I think I'll be doing a DVD9 1080p AVCHD and a DVD5 standart definition DVD because unlike SW and TESB there doesn't seem to be an edit like this for Jedi even in SD.

You know what I hate?  People that ask things like "could anyone make a NTSC version of this?" because they are just too damn lazy to figure out how to do it themselves.

So...

...could anyone make a NTSC version of this?

;-)

Sorry, I won't be doing NTSC, but it really should be easy to do it by yourself.

But I am gonna do the 5.1 version of Jedi, I'm actually working on it right now. I don't have the 97 mix though, so I'll have to base it on the 04 mix but that should be quite OK for Jedi, right?

OK, I'm trying to make an AVCHD with a motion menu in MultiAVCHD and it just doesn't seem to work (POWER DVD 10 won't load it). I tried the "relaxed AVCHD" option and a "any Blu-Ray player" option and then created an ISO with ImgBurn. Media Player Classic HC loads it but it only plays the film and not the menu. Could anyone help me with that? Is it gonna work on Blu-Ray players?

Also, could someone recommend a good free tool for DVD authoring. I'd like to add several audio tracks and a motion menu...

You need the Ultra version of Power DVD 10 to play any bu-ray/ AVCHD content. If you are using the standard version you can't play it.

Version 4_1 of MultiAVCHD has some player compatibility problems that are being worked on by the author. It seems to be something to do with the menus or the structure of the AVCHD

Thanks for the info, Ady. I do have the ultra version, it says: There is a disc with an unsupported format in drive F.

Will it work if I just do the AVCHD without the menu?

Author

I decided to scratch the menu in favor of compatibility and am currurently reencoding using MultiAVCHD v3.0.

Harmy, if these are AVCHD, why are you using the PAL speedup?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Harmy, if you are using 1080p25 you will come across more compatibility problems when using AVCHD & Blu-Ray structures as it is not part of the Blu-Ray standard originally. Older blu-ray players DO NOT support 1080p25.

Convert the audio from 25fps to 23.976fps using EAC3to, then load up the M2TS file you created in MultiAVCHD (your AVCHD folder), change the framerate of your video from 25fps to 24000/1001 (this won't re-encode the video). If it loads up the original audio tracks remove those in the track selection and add your new 23.976fps versions. then you can output the AVCHD which seems to be a lot more compatible than MultiAVCHD even 3.0

The stuttering in EP4 is because it is adding 1 extra frame per second to change it to 25fps from 24fps. You should have run it though TSMuxer first to change the framerate and you would not have had any stuttering. Powerdirector is pretty crap at framerate conversions. It either adds or deletes frames to get it to the selected output framerate.

If you were having problems with framerate issues you should have asked for help in here first before continuing because you will find that no one will want to download your AVCHD because of these problems, plus the 1080p25 problems will also put people off

Like I said, I didn't even realize there was gonna be a problem and didn't notice it at first even after it was done.

Only Jedi is AVCHD, the other two are mkv and the original source file for Jedi is 25fps as is my GOUT so I could just work with it as it was. Power DVD still won't load the disc even after using v3.0 so I'll try converting Jedi to 23.976 like Ady said and I'll see.

Also, I think I'll redo STAR WARS from scratch once Jedi is all done and maybe even EMPIRE. This is also me saying sorry to all those who already downloaded it and to those who are patiently waiting for it because it seems it will take a lot longer now, but the results should be a higher quality ones.

Is there even such a thing as PAL with an AVCHD?  I ask this sincerely because I have no idea.

Well, in multiAVCHD there is a choice between PAL and NTSC but I can't seem to find any other frame rate option, can I do it in TS muxer?

Author

OK, Jedi's something something something complete :-D

I made it a 1080p 23.976 fps AVCHD in TS muxer so hopefully it will work for most people. I already started uploading but based on previous experience it will probably take like 3 days. System stays the same, if you're interested, PM me and I'll send you the links once the upload's finished.

That might be for standard defintion content that might be on the AVCHD.  There is no PAL or NTSC for HD on AVCHD really, but you can make 23.976 480i or 25 fps 576i AVCHDs, which is perhaps what it is referring to.  It might also refer to the colors used for the menu: NTSC Safe Color is an option on many DVD authoring programs.  I would always choose NTSC to be safe.

To Chewtobacca: Well, it did encode the 1080p video at 25fps when I chose PAL but I'll be doing these at 23.976 after all.

To snowtrooper: Thanks for the feedback. As I'm gonna be doing this again, I'm open to sugestions, what else would you change back?

OK, just to make it "official": I started working on STAR WARS PDE v2.0. I will be fixing the frame rate issues and hopefully increasing some other quality aspects. This time it will be a 23.976fps AVCHD. I will probably be using less (if any) Adywan's work this time to make it more of my own project. (exept ofcourse the AVCHD, Ady's color correction's awesome)

OK, Jedi's finished and up on RS. I took the GOUT audio and adjusted the HD version to it.

I restored the original musical number, original Sarlacc and the original ending using GOUT and KGAR and did a little color correction including fixing the lightsabres. It is a DVD9 23.976 fps 1080p AVCHD. There are both 2.0 GOUT and adjusted 2004 5.1 soundtracks plus 2.0 Czech dub. PM me for the links if you're interested.

Here are some sample videos:

Sarlac (it's a bit different in the final version)

STAR WARS PDE V2.0 is almost done. I'm currently working on a 5.1 sound and hopefully will be exporting the 1st workprint overnight.

I have had a flick through ROTJ.  Everything looks really good, but there is a massive jump in volume level at about 12:17.  This is obviously where you spliced in Lapti Nek over the 2004 footage.  It really needs looking at.  All you have to do is experiment with lowering the overall volume level of that clip. Play it on a 5.1 system if you can, and if not you can use headphones, which you should always use when editing anyway.

This is a common mistake for first fanedits, so do not feel bad.  You just have to correct this, re-export the audio track and mux it to the video stream with tsmuxer: check the AVCHD radio button.  You do not have to re-encode.  :-)

Thanks for the mini-review, Chew.  I've started to download but even once I finish I need to replenish my DL discs...so a corrected version would be great in the meantime :-)
