And Back to the Future!

Everyone remembers what a huge BTTF fanatic I was... er... three years ago.

Maybe they don't remember.... Wow, has it been that long?

And, er... Yeah. Happy Thanksgiving!

As a child I tended to regard Thanksgiving as "that other holiday that bridged the gap between Halloween & Christmas" but I was always grateful for the 4 day weekend, which I will now sorely miss. The parades are usually nice though, I actually managed to catch the Rockettes this year.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all a good night.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you who don't celebrate it in winter!

And also happy whatever else it is you do celebrate down south...Cobumbus Day, or something. ;) I think we should start celebrating Lief Ericson Day on the American Thanksgiving. After all, he beat Columbus to it by almost 500 years (and he didn't think for a minute that he was in India).

Ah Columbus. A bad navigator, a bad governor, and a dude who just loved slavery.

But as long as Italian Americans like to have parades, I guess we're stuck deifying him.

USA! USA! USA!

If he were such a bad navigator then I highly doubt he'd have made it to America and back as many times as he did

Besides, didn't Columbus oppose the slavery, at least to some extent...or was that Queen Isabella? Sometimes things get confused in my head.

Ender is right. I don't want to pretend Columbus was a Saint, but it'd be naive to deny that if he hadn't landed in America when he did then the world would be much different today

I don't know about Columbus, but I do know that Isabella opposed mistreatment of the natives because she wanted them to be converted to Christianity.

I didn't realize before today that the Québécois don't celebrate Thanksgiving. To them it's just another long weekend.

Author

Of course they don't celebrate it, its an American holiday.

No, it's also a Canadian holiday, celebrated the same day we celebrate Columbus day, silly :)

I knew there a Canadia Thanksgiving Day, I was just joking.  Btw, do they eat turkey on their Thanksgiving Day, if not, what do they eat?

If by they you mean Canadians, yes, we have turkey, stuffing, and all the good stuff you Americans eat at Thanksgiving. By the time you have your Thanksgiving, it's usually about three weeks to a month into winter (at least it is in Alberta), which is why we celebrate it earlier.

As for the Québécois, they just have a regular supper, as they aren't generally a thankful lot. ;)

Happy late Canadian Thanksgiving. Can't wait for round two next month.
