Hello all, I’m getting myself a new PC set up this holiday season and with it decided to try my hand at editing, my question is what type of software is recommended for ripping Blu Rays (removing copyright protection, macrovision etc) and more so what is a good video editing software for assembly an edit

Thanks guys

For ripping, AnyDVD HD is the way to go.

For editing, if you have the money (or have an edu email address and significantly less money), Adobe Premiere is great and easy to learn. I’m sure there are decent free options as well, though they’re much more limited. Apparently the DaVinci software is quite good, and there is a free version available.

Thanks guys, was also wondering what a good capture device is for capturing from a HD cable box, I’d like to capture some things off of my DVR and clear up some space
