Did the Rogue One or Force Awakens trailers do the same to you? I definitely agree this was not the most enticing trailer in the world…

I don’t remember. I enjoyed Rogue One more than TFA. Still not going to own either. Movie tickets are enough for me regarding Star Wars merchandise.

So, does anyone else think those books might be the Journals of the Whills?

Also, do you think they’ll kill Leia?

The journal was mentioned in the TFA novelization…

We’ve had this discussion before and it was established that trailer talk is not classified as spoilers.

The spoiler threads are havens for actual spoilers from leaks.

I’ll be interested to hear what you think of the film once you actually see it.

Don’t hold your breath.
My interest level is extremely low.
And for Episogue One, I’ve actually gone from an interest level of “extremely low” to active “do not want to watch” status, so we’ll just have to see how many characters are necromanced to action in “Jedi II” to decide whether I actually watch it…

Just kidding, I don’t really care.

Yet somehow I know with certainty that you would indeed read my impressions if I ever chose to post them.
So who is the one who truly does not care?

Ok, let’s just say that wasn’t the point of my post.

Rey needs Luke for her training…

Why would she need any training? She’s invincible.

She sure is

EDIT:

Wish I could have found a higher quality gif but she was pretty invincible here too. Yahweh would be destroyed if Rey even so much as glanced in his direction.

Funny, cuz her getting flung a quarter mile through the air and slammed into a tree without injury…well…it kinda makes her look…oh, I dunno…

EDIT: you know, watching this on a loop really brings home that TFA’s over-the-top, cartoon physical treatment of the characters is very out of keeping with the SW Trilogy, which never blithely submits its characters to such consequence-free abuse. Luke is positively agonized by a washing machine hitting him in the shoulder in ESB, while Squirrelface here is flung around like a love doll, and it only makes her madder.
You know where that stuff does happen, though, a lot?
The prequels.

Was the point of your post that you had forgotten the thread is about Jedi II, and thought it was about The Fourth Awakening, and also you enjoy liberal use of misdirected snark?

Oh please, if we were to tally all of the broken fingers, hands and legs people should be having in films and TV Shows almost none of them would seem beleivable in that department. The fact that she got knocked out twice in the film indicates that she can be hurt. Also what are you going to say when Kylo defeats her in in a fair fight in TLJ? That they’re backtacking or something? I’m interested in seeing how people are going to try to twist this one.

If it will make you happy, sure.

You’ve defeated me with your logics. Allow me a “concession eyeroll.”

Also what are you going to say when Kylo defeats her in in a fair fight in TLJ?

Assuming that’s a hypothetical rather than a spoiler, well I guess I’d say such an outcome just makes no sense given that she defeated him with ease before even becoming a padme or whatever nonsense they intend to do in Jedi II.

You have to understand that he doesn’t know she was knocked unconscious twice because he’s never actually seen the film.

Yes I did, and I enjoyed it well enough.
But I will freely grant that there was nothing memorable about it, and therefore I remember very little of it.

She was being dominated for most of the fight but I wouldn’t call it easy even if Kylo was severely injured along with the mental stuff he was dealing with after he killed Han. I wish they had just had in neutral circumstances and have Rey be saved by Chewie or something. Oh well at least this time they can have a fight without a bunch of circumstantial bullshit getting in the way.

Right now I can’t tell and that’s bothering me even more.

Duly noted.
