Episode IV: A Ridiculous Hope — Page 31

Now the question is how to use it. I don’t think I want all the Stormtroopers to have the Johnny voice because I’ve used up most of the good lines already. Maybe as a Force Ghost Clones voice but I’m not sure that will translate.

Insert Marty McFly’s line, “Silence, earthling! My name is Darth Vader. I am an extraterrestrial from the planet Vulcan,” at the point where Vader cuts Leia off when meeting her on Tantive IV. If course, you’d probably want to remove Leia’s line, “Darth Vader, only you could be so bold.”

Ha, I like it. Leia could say “Darth Vader, only you could be so [something else]” instead of just removing the line.

Also, should mention I’m fairly certain Ben Kenobi will be renamed Ken Benobi.

YES. It’s about time he took an actual cover name instead of just changing his first name.

Before the troops blow the door into the Blockade Runner, various things are heard. Doorbell ring, knocking, jiggling the lock, Chevy Chase saying “Candygram?”.

The tactical display in the Yavin base could have helpful signage.

“You are here” for the rebel moon. “Really big ball of gas” for Yavin proper. “Impending Certain Doom” for the Death Star.

As Red Leader always seemed a little too happy about his impending death…

The Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern movie is ripe… With potential. The opening monologue could be spliced into Obi wan explaining Anakin, the death Star could be powered by harnessing the powers of parallax. He could survive to be snoke. Luke could dimly remember his father being an American fighter pilot.

Begin by showing the deleted material of Luke viewing the battle above the Tatooine, damaged film and all. Have the film burn out and over a black screen, have someone say, “Dang it!” Some messing around with the projector and then resume the film without any more deleted scenes.

Alternatively, show the deleted material up till we see Luke arriving at Tosche Station. Then have a voiceover saying something like, “Too much like American Graffiti in space,” in a Lucas-esque voice. Darkness, reel change, and resume film without deleted scenes.

There’s probably enough Lucas dialog in the documentaries and commentary tracks to have him actually say that.
If Frink has the Monty Python and the Holy Grail DVD release with the fake out opening, he might be able to edit and lift the projectionist’s dialog. It’s sadly not on the Blu Ray, probably for licensing reasons.

Playing the American Graffiti soundtrack over the Biggs scenes could work too.

Wolfman Jack could be heard on the radio in Fixer’s garage and Luke’s Landspeeder. 😃

There could be another scene of the Death Star after they set course for Alderaan, placed where the SE Jabba scene had gone. Show the Death Star arrive at Earth (Perhaps part of the reveal shot from Independence Day). Then when Motti says ‘We’ve entered the Alderaan system’, it could be edited to sound like ‘we’ve entered the wrong system’.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

When Obi-Wan’s voice says “Run Luke, run!” I’ve always thought it would be great to follow it with “Good dog” and a bark a la this old production bump.

Not sure what movie Alec Guinness may have said dog in, but he does say good in Star Wars. Ewan says boy enough in the prequels to cobble together good boy.
