Am I disappointed with the dvd cover?

of course I am

and I just wish that special features included on the disc could have been mentioned.
Which I will assume will probably be later revealed around September

There's enough covers on this site to keep you happy man. I don't use the official covers anymore. They are a bag of shite!!!

And no Simon...The date is Nov 1st!

Good stuff - hope there a lot of extras and deleted scenes on there for our resident Editors to com up with something special like they have doen for Eps 1 & 2.

Cover wise I suppose it ties in with the other Prequels, but I'll probably use one of the fine covers that the many talented lads on have and will come up with in the cominmg months...

Will it feature Qui-Gon's scene or Yoda's Dagobah scene?
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. From The Digital Bits:

Quote

The 2-disc set will hit store shelves on 11/1, as we expected. Both anamorphic widescreen and full frame versions will be available, each with video mastered directly from the film's original digital master files. Audio will be Dolby Digital 5.1 EX. Extras are not yet fully announced, but we do know that you can expect audio commentary with George Lucas and members of the production team, a new feature-length documentary on the making of the film, 2 behind-the-scenes featurettes (one looks at Anakin Skywalker as "the chosen one" and the other deals with the film's stunt work), the 15-part Making Episode III web documentary and a number of newly-completed deleted scenes. You'll also get two playable levels of the Star Wars Battlefront II videogame (for Xbox we assume).

I don't know why, but, for some reason, I don't like it as much as the one for Attack of the Clones or The Phantom Menace. I can't figure out why that is. Maybe it looks a little too empty, but I can't explain why I think that either, since it's really about as filled as the other covers. But I do like the duel pic at the bottom. It looks much more realistic than what actually happened in the movie. The two standing on ground with lava-filled cracks with volcanic explosions in the distance... rather than inches above a lava pit with explosions happening right next to them.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

This is by far my favorite offical DVD cover. TPM was pretty good, AotC was alright, but the OT covers were HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE.

The question for me becomes: How can those of us who are planning to re-edit the film land an early promo copy of the whole enchilada, so we can get a jump start on editing? Let the brainstorming begin.

Am I the only one that thinks the Emperor looks terrible in that pic?

Nope, he looks terrible. Unfortunately he looks terrible in the entire movie (ROTS). He doesn't look like the emperor from ROTJ. His skin is so weird. It looks vertically stretched or something. But I do like the cover!

Is there some unwritten law that a movie with perfectly decent poster artwork has to be replaced by a headshot photo cover whipped up in ten minutes with photoshop for the DVD?
And Yoda deserves to be on the cover as much as Palpy!

A bit harsh. I think he looks like the emperor when you seehim say "Every single Jedi..."

No... he looks pretty messed up in this movie. It's like he's melting or something.

GOOD eyes, Hot Rod. You should point it out to LFL now so they might actually fix a mistake BEFORE it gets into production.

Gaffer Tape, you do realize how funny your last line is don't you?

have they even bothered to send out review copies of the DVDs in the past? i've worked at magazines but I don't remember getting early releases of the DVDs...they probably feel like they don't need to bother. i know they've hosted screening events at the Ranch for extras and what-not. i'm betting they're super piracy gunshy after the ROTS early release too.

sorry adm! not much help, am i?

Only if you're inferring that I'm referencing 3PO's, "I think I'm melting!" line. If you're trying to say that the Emperor's face always looked like it was melting, well, it was wrinkly, but it had some solidity to it. This one just looks like someone put an action figure in the oven. And if it's neither of those, then I have no idea.

Please don't tell them... I am sure they would just go and digitally remove the scar from all Anakin-shots in the movie... (and maybe some more eyebrows, when they're already at it).

Yes, I agree, that's what is in the trailer too so before I saw the movie I thought he looked pretty much the same as in ROTJ. But his chin and neck are so weird. And he is much younger in ROTS ofcourse.

I think ADigitalMan means he is more or less melting in the movie because of his own powers in his battle with mace.
