Are they airing the special itself or just clips from it? There's already a great quality DVD of the special itself taken fron a broadcast tape floating around.. I have a version of it and I think Rikter does also.

Was it the whole Holiday Special or just clips from it?

I saw it. It was just clips and it was crap. It looks like all they did was blow up that old realplayer version that I posted here. So you didn't miss anything.

Lucas in Love was pretty good though, I hadn't seen it before.


The original Star Wars trilogy: Our cultural history deserves to be preserved and should be available to the public like all great works of art!

That's strange that the quality would be so bad. I wonder if the show actually had permission to run the clips or maybe it fell under the "news" catagory. I know for sure a broadcast quality copy exists as it's housed in the facility where I work. (Don't ask. I have absolutely no access to it.)

I got one that I think was called the AngrySun remaster, or something like that, but I would never call it "great quality". It's quite blurry and faded, and hardly looks better than my nth generation vhs from oh-so-many years ago. Is there a different version out?

Yes there is another version now called The Angrysun “Unauthorized Collection”- The Original "Angrysun Version" is also one of my very first releases and I did the best I could with what I had considering that it was the only Holiday Special VHS I've ever seen. I think it works asthe VHS tape was mastered from an EVEN older VHS from 1978 - this was recorded before most of the forums members were born
