Darth Vader is in Soul Calibur 4!

...and I dunno what to think. A ridiculous Namco/LFL gimmick? The coolest part of the game? Seems like storylines and timeframes are pretty much getting thrown out the window for this. Haha.

Kind of like Soulcaliber 2 with Link for the Gamecube version, Heihachi Mishima (from Tekken) for the PS2 version, and Spawn for the Xbox version.

Only this time it's Vader for the PS3 and Yoda for the 360, with Vader's Secret Apprentice from The Force Unleashed on both.

I just can't believe they put them on the box.  It'd be like Tony Hawk 3 having Darth Maul and Wolverine on the cover...

Didn't know about Yoda in the 360 version. Probably cuz I was looking at a PS3 site. Haha. I'll have to check the 'good guy' section at the official site to see Yoda. (and check for the apprentice, though I have no idea who he is or what he looks like)

What's the point of this?  Is the Soul Calibur franchise so hard up that they now need to use Star Wars characters to draw players in?  I just don't get it.

This is simply marketing, they did something similar with the last dead or alive franchise game when they had a female master chief. Hell even nintendos last smash brothers series game had solid snake.

Why are people so surpised star wars is george lucas marketing whore for the highest profit.   After seeing those prequel and less than special editions people did not get the picture.

George should get together with Gene Simmons. They'll put their respective brand's logos and likenesses on anything! :p I would say that Lucas probably doesn't worship money to the same extent as Simmons, though. Hopefully, anyway.

When they used Link, the Spawn, and the guy fron Tekken, they put them all on the box. It makes perfect sense. A SW fan who would not normally buy Soul Calibur sees Vader or Yoda on the box and decides to add it to his collection. I know a few Zelda fans who bought the old GC version for no other reason than the fact that it had Link in it. It also makes for advertisment for the Force Unleashed. As long as you are not ashamed to whore out your characters, and GL certianly isn't, everybody wins in a situation like this.

I saw Vader at comicon, and he looked like a pussy.

Also, Skyjedi, Snake was in SSBB because Hideo Kojima BEGGED them. Literally; he begged for him to be in melee, but they were too late. Mr. Kojima apparently has a lot of faith in the game.

How tall was the Comicon Vader? I mean, with the helmet and boots, he should be nearly 7' tall, based on David Prowse's peak height of 6'7'', apparently. He sure would look more intimidating up in that range.

Oh no!  I mean, in the GAME.  I'm sorry.
