The severely underrated film by Kevin Spacey has not gotten a proper release on bluray in the states, even though it has in France, somehow… Anyway, my plan is to get the french bluray of the film and despecialize it. Why? Because there are a couple of significant errors with the French bluray, there are French subtitles burned into each song section which makes no sense at all. The other issue that should be noted is that the DTS track is DTS-HR not DTS-HD MA, technically classifying it as lossy audio, but that issue will be figured out in the future. The main game paln is with the picture. What I plan to do to fix that is photoshopping each frame and replace the subtitles with the dvd upscaled to 1080p (similarly to the techniques used in the Amadeus theatrical restoration). The dvd is in pretty tip top shape so it should not be too much of an issue. If color or other things become too much of an issue, I’ll use Dr Dre’s color correction tool to tweek it. After all that, I’ll release the video part (mkv most likely around 20GB & possibly a smaller version around 10GB) & getting around to creating a proper English bluray!!!
