Anakin's wife

How are you guys going to do Anakin's wife? I know a few have completely written out Padme, but I think she has potential to be a good character. In the actual PT, she desires peace for all and does what she can to help (somewhat).

In my rewrite PT, what I plan to do is for Padme trying to keep the peace between the Separatists and the Republic despite the growing tensions after the First Clone War. However, Padme distrusts the Jedi because she believes they caused Dooku to rebel and form the Separatists.

Because of this, her relationship with Anakin and Obi-Wan has a rocky start. Over time, she warms up to the two Jedi and soon marries Anakin. However, when she fears about Anakin falling to the Dark Side as her husband gets closer to Palpatine, she confides in Obi-Wan with her children. Ironically this leads Anakin to suspect of Obi-Wan and Padme betraying him, and Anakin ultimately falls to the Dark Side. After the rise of the Empire, Padme goes into hiding and she disguises herself as a servant of Bail Organa.

What are your thoughts? Is it alright? Is there anything wrong with it? What are your own ideas? Please let me know. Thanks.

Screw lightsabers, I’ll stick with regular swords. At least they won’t blow up in my face like this franchise has.

In my canon, Anakin's wife and Padmé -- or Amidala, as I'm calling her -- are two seperate characters.

In my primary PT rewrite, the girl who eventually becomes Anakin's wife is named Nashira DuQuesne, a native of the planet Orron III in the Corporate Sector who is three years younger than Anakin. Though she is Force-sensitive, she has never undergone training and is not part of any Force-based religion or tradition.

Anakin and Nashira meet when they are both captured by the Mandalorian Death Watch and forcibly recruited into their army, and it is in captivity where they establish a bond and begin to develop feelings for one another. Once the Mandalorian crisis comes to an end, the two decide not to pursue a romance right away and settle on remaining close friends.

Fast forward five years, and Anakin and Nashira are now in a committed romantic relationship. When not training with Ben or fighting against clone shocktroopers in the war against the Clonemasters, he spends his time living with her under her parents' roof on Orron III. Once Anakin leaves the Jedi and becomes the Lord of the Sith, he convinces her to leave with him to the Sith tombworld Korriban.

Fast forward sixteen years, and Anakin and Nashira are still together and married. Unfortunately, their relationship has become strained; not only does Nashira not believe in the Sith ways, but she lives with the fear that Ahsoka Tano -- one of Anakin's apprentices -- is going to steal Anakin away from her. Eventually, it all becomes too much for her when she discovers she is pregnant and she leaves Anakin.

Hiding with Obi-Wan in the royal palace on Alderaan, Nashira eventually gives birth to a pair of twins, Luke and Leia. Coming to the heart-rending conclusion that it would be best to seperate the two children to prevent them from being discovered by Anakin -- who has now become the armoured cyborg Vader -- and Palpatine, it is decided that Leia will remain on Alderaan to be raised by the Organas while Luke will be taken to Dagobah to be raised by Ben's master Yoda.

From there-on-out, Nashira becomes Leia's handmaiden, and she is there to witness the first three years of Leia's life. Unfortunately for Nashira, her story comes to a close when she comes face-to-face with her estranged husband one last time ...

Shame on you, WS! Don't you think that kind of thing could push him over to the Dark Side? I'll find my own wife (once I'm old enough), and not take someone else's.

... I really should have phrased that better.

I've actually got Mother Skywalker (Carima) as bit of comedy relief, adding some light humor to the story. She's an impulsive, quick talking, feisty yin to Anakin's slower, more thoughtful, restrained yang. They're friends and coworkers on Tatooine and she manages to talk her way into coming with him when Skywalker leaves with Kenobi. They start falling for each other over the course of Episode I, get serious and committed in Episode II, and sadly lose each other in Episode III.

Really she's there to keep Anakin grounded and in a sense act as the more everyday person when he starts becoming a serious Jedi. There's a bit of Grant/Hepburn dynamic with the two of them, with both driven a little crazy by the other, but also deeply appreciate of those very qualities. She's his connection to his humanity more than even Obi-Wan is, and once he loses that, he falls hard.
