I’ve had a lot of fun being on here, and I’ve been getting ready to do this project for a while and I think this will be the right place for it.
I’m working on a restoration of An American werewolf In London. My goal is to create a nice quality BD-25 with the original Mono soundtrack and a bit of color regrading utilizing the most recent Blu-Ray release (35th Anniversary Restored Edition) and the audio from the original DVD (Audio was stretched to 5.1, being converted to mono using Handbrake). I’ve heard rumors that the 1995 laserdisc release has the original untouched Mono soundtrack, so maybe with your help, we can make a version with that audio as well someday.
John Landis went totally Lucas on this movie back in 2002. Several sound effects such as gunshots, car crashes, gore sounds, etc. were added to the preexisting soundtrack. Everything was mixed to 5.1, and the strangest change of all, the entire audio track was pitched down which just made everyone sound like they had a deep voice.
I’m working on the first version of this restoration now, and I’ll hopefully be able to get it to you by this weekend. Wish me luck!
