Might?
I didn’t think I could love Shatner any more, but I think it just happened 😃
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-07-31/sjws-stand-inequality-and-misandry-shatner-claims-fiery-twitter-rantGotta love some good “twitter drama”
I hate twitter drama, but one of the people he was responding to is a total asshole. Implying that Shatner is mad that a “more diverse” cast is getting the limelight instead of him is absurd.
What Shatner is saying is absurd.
And this is your failure of logic. SJWs stand for inequality, where they are superior to any one else hence my use of Misandry and Snowflake
He might fit in on Reddit.
Might?
Well, he’d have to have a username alluding to Pepe the Frog first, but yes, I might strike out that might.

Can’t both be true? Shatner is almost always absurd.
The Person in Question
I so wanted a Captain Nog series.
I love that episode. I’d recognize footage from “The Visitor” anywhere.
The Person in Question
Trekcore just published the cover of the first Discovery comic book
I was hoping that at least the comic book Klingons will look at least slightly like Klingons…
In this day and age, artistic license in a licensed comic book is as rare as an honest politician.
Star Trek Continues just put out a new episode, guest starring John de Lancie in a role other than Q. I’m not sure what you guys think of fan series, I myself have not been impressed with most efforts, but this show is probably as close as we’re going to get to “new” TOS episodes. This episode, in true TOS fashion, isn’t subtle about its social commentary, I don’t know if I should spoil it, but I’m guessing you’d all appreciate it.
Interesting! I thought Paramount had kneecapped this sort of fan production after the whole Axanar debacle?
Where were you in '77?
They did, but Star Trek Continues funded three episodes before then, so they’re allowed to produce and release those, but can’t… continue.
Remind me why I should pay to watch Discovery again? 😉

Bleh.
But the Orville looks pretty damn good

Yeah, I’ll probably check The Orville out. Not a big Seth McFarlane fan, but there hasn’t been a outright SF comedy on tv in a long time. Surprised the late 1970’s one season wonder Quark hasn’t been remade yet.
Where were you in '77?
I don’t mean to sound irreverent when I say I don’t care about the die-hard Trek fans. I only ‘don’t care’ about them in the sense that I know they’re all going to watch anyway. I look forward to having the fun of them being outraged, so they can sit up all night and talk about it with each other.
Stay classy, Isaacs.
He might regret saying that once he appears at a convention. 😉

Not a nice thing to say about your customers. You usually just think those things 😃
I never imagined Isaacs would hold back, this is great. He’s not wrong, people are complaining about the stitching on the uniforms before ever seeing an episode. And calling “Orville” the true successor to Trek? Let’s see how many dick jokes MacFarlane can fit into the pilot first.

I’m a huge fan of Trek (albeit I’m not a Trekkie; just a Star Trek fan). I like all of the TV series, and many of the movies (including the Kelvin Timeline). But I find Orville trailers to pique my interest or scratch my scifi-adventure itch, whereas any Discovery news just makes me sad.
I don’t need a “gritty” Star Trek, thanks. I’ll be happy if it turns out to be just one season–and look forward to whatever Nicholas Meyer is doing.
JEDIT: And that really is sad. I hated when Enterprise got cancelled “due to low ratings”. I want Trek to be successful, but not by injecting it with fans of The Walking Dead.
chyron just put a big Ric pic in your sig and be done with it.

I’ve done my fair share of complaining and nitpicking, but I agree with the general sentiment here, at least with the latter part.

I just watched TNG S7E13 “Homeward” and Worf dealing with his human brother was more interesting to me than anything he’s ever done with the rest of the Klingons.

Thirded. I’ll be staying as far away from Orville as I do MacFarlane’s other stupid shows.
