I think Frink is right on the money with this.  The Phillies pitching is just too strong.

You think the Twins will beat the Yankees??  I think Yankees will kill the Twins and then beat the Rays in a close series.   Then they will lose to the Phillies.  I completely agree with the rest of your picks.

The Yankees have Sabathia and a bunch of suck in the rotation (assuming Hughes doesn't pull it together).  They also have to play 3 of 5 in Minny's pitcher friendly park.

Advantage Twins.

Having said that, I'm already in trouble on my Rays prediction.

Roy Halladay pitched a no-hitter!!!!!!!!    The Phillies win 4-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got home from work to watch the 9th.  Halladay was fan-tastic.  That was fun!

I'll forgo a prediction because I think we have some fantastic match-ups this year, much stronger than in the past few years.  That said; While I can certainly see a Yankees-Phillies World Series, I think it could almost as easily be Rays-Phillies.  Speaking strictly as a fan,  my preference would be Rangers-Giants.

Crap - I might as well be running for office with an answer like that.  ;-)

Sure, Warb.

I live in Texas and occasionally drive to Arlington to watch the Rangers.  I'm also a wine drinker\collector so I travel to Napa\San Francisco a couple of times a year and always take in a Giants game or two.  In fact, the trips are scheduled to coincide with Giants home stands. Because I follow those two teams more closely than others (after my own, of course), I would like to see them both make it to the series.

I wouldn't count on the Giants getting in, if I were you.

Warb,

If you'll look back a few posts - I'm not.

Baseball is a funny game that way. My Rays possibility took a bath almost as soon as I typed it out.

Elsewhere;

Damn! - Lincecum. What an awesome game.  At the start of the game my wife (big baseball fan) commented on how he seemed a touch amped-up.  Suffice to say - he settled down.  ;-)

Great stuff.

My wife's comment - what's the story with the hippie who needs a haircut?

Your Rays? I thought you were an Astros fan, and were routing for the Rangers and the Giants in playoffs???

Tell that to the Giants.

I won't have to,  Halladay, Hamels and Oswalt will.

THE RANGERS TOOK GAME TWO FROM THE RAYS.  THE TEXAS RANGERS NOW HAVE A 2-0 SERIES LEAD.  GO RANGERS !!!

You don't have chance.    The Yankees will kill you, and if they don't,  the Phillies will.
