OT fans dont like the PT cus it is to open, to wide to impersonal. one of the greatest strengths and hooks of the OT was that is was so personal, you had luke han and leia, and you really really got to know them well. they were the heros, and at all key points in the movie all three were directly linvolved inwhat was going on. in the PT it is not longer personal, the only character that we really follow closely is Obi-wan. In the PT events are alover the place, in TPM you have stuff going on on naboo and curosant and tatoone at the same time, key events. in AOTCs you have Obiwan going off on one mission doing one thing, and you have anakin go off on another, they are not together until the end, and i know that there are alot of SW fans that thought that near the end AOFC became very very good. so that is it right there, that is what is different, and its that diference that is aliening the minds of so many fans, they are used to seeing a starwars film that is personal, and they are not getting it, 'so the PT doesnt fell like a starwars movies' <- how many times have you heard that b4 lol.

well there it is, that is the reason, and there is nothing wrong with it. So can the PT fans and the OT fan finally just agree to disagree.

am i wishing for too much there lol

I think your theory is right-on, Shimraa. And it's not that I despise the prequels or constantly go off on them. I find myself frustrated, though, by the third-generation (I'll call them that for convenience's sake) fans who became fascinated with the saga when the prequels were released. If you go on other Star Wars sites and visit the forums, you'll find that many of them like nothing more than to chew out any fans that aren't completely satisfied with George Lucas's current vision. I'm middle of the road in my Star Wars interest: I have few problems with the SEs, though I prefer the original cuts, and I love the Original Trilogy over the prequels, though I definitely don't have a problem popping in my Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones DVD when I feel like it. Heck, I even like Jar-Jar. At the moment, however, I find that the most argumentative and vicious fans are the ones that are pro-Lucas all the way, and have gotten really into the prequels. There's a thread on TF.N right now about Zahn haters, and there are a few that have posted that feel that Zahn is totally overrated and that the newer stuff in the EU is better. They initiate angry discussions about whether the stormtroopers are clones or not. I actually posted a pissed-off entry in my blog this morning describing my frustration with the Star Wars fan community, ironically, though I made sure I listed OT.Com as an exception, because it is.
Basically, I want to agree to disagree and leave it at that. However, many fans are simply perpetuating the disagreement and widening the rift between the fan base. It's sad.
