I did a fan commentary for TFA with a friend, it got posted this week.
may want to fix ‘weather’, unless you really did discuss the weather 😉
Well, it was a safe bet this was coming sooner or later. 😉

The Snoke riff cracked me up.
Where were you in '77?

We did talk a bit about the weather, thank you very much. 😛

I just engaged in an argument with a guy who said Finn acted and sounded like “a kind of cliche pop culture black guy raised on network TV”
I officially give up on the Star Wars fandom.
What you should give up is defending TFA from other people’s opinions.

Saying that is like saying Obama and Birdman act and talk the same which is unacceptable.

I don’t see how that analogy remotely relates.

Does Obama or Finn act or speak anything like this man?

Sorry, I thought you meant the film “Birdman” and was extremely confused.
I think Finn is pretty annoying and doesn’t really have a character larger than one dimensional, but the weird oddly specific stereotype generalization you mentioned definitely doesn’t fit and definitely borders on racist.
I’d probably just go with “less crap Jar Jar Binks,” though it certainly has nothing to do with him being black, I just think the character’s annoying.
@Haseo
I was speaking about your behaviour in general. I couldn’t care less about specifics of your latest example.

He’s nothing like Jar-Jar Binks. There’s a difference between someone who’s a bit immature and a spaz and a bumbling moron. As for the one dimensional thing I don’t think one dimensional characters who have clear aspirations, a defined set or morality and go through stages of emotions etc. can be considered as one dimensional but I digress. And you finding him annoying doesn’t mean you’re racist in the slightest so don’t worry about that 😉

Dutifully noted.
EDIT:
And I think you should care before you seemingly back up a racist remark. But that’s just me.

I don’t mind if you like Finn, you’re entitled to your opinion.
I’d rebuttal you but neither of us will convince the other anyway so whatever 😛

Probably but I think we can both agree that there is room for the character to grow 😉

Oh definitely, it’s actually one of the reasons I’m looking forward to Episode 8 the most; I’d like to see Poe and Finn grow into something more substantial.
Poe especially, I quite enjoyed what little we got of him.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how Finn is going to deal with his injuries and falling into being with a new organization after a lifetime of servitude to the First Order. And I’m definitely looking forward to Poe becoming a full fledged character and I want to see that bond he and Finn share grow.

I share that sentiment exactly.
Moral of the Story:
DON’T TRAIN ANY NEW JEDI!
They have a 50% going-evil rate.
If they’d just stop training new Jedi, there wouldn’t be any villains!
there wouldn’t be any villains!
OR MOVIES
there wouldn’t be any villains!

Oh that’s not true. You could have a nice little robo-rom-com about how on Alderaan C-3PO and R2-D2 produced BB-88.

Indeed. Luke was a whiny annoying bumbling farmboy up until Empire.
