J, I'm sending you those tracks tonight.
I've got a lot of good cut scene photos. At home.
More progress this afternoon:
- Ralph McQuarrie Menu video rendered and implemented into DVD Studio Pro.
- Main Menu buttons implemented into DVSP.
- Sub-menu and buttons created and implemented into DVDSP. I may change the photo though. Its currently a photo of Vader and Bast being filmed walking down the corridor. Anyone got any suggestions for a good 'making of' photo? Maybe a good Biggs one?
- SWB Trailer rendered and implemented into DVDSP.
- Music Tracks added to DVDSP menus.
- Implemented a rare interview with a never before heard crew member.
- Currently rendering all feature video except credits to m2v, whilst I'm out and about.
Tomorrow I should be able to get the rest done. I will try to concentrate on getting the credits done at the very least. There are so many people to consider. I will add a 'thanks to everyone at original trilogy.com' to cover any of those I've missed.

I will be going through my extensive photo collection tomorrow!

I can't ever get past the voices on PAL. It's just not what I'm used to.
Yeah, it really grates on my ears. So here's hoping someone converts it! =)

Question not related to the topic at hand.
In this era of HD, NTSC v. PAL isn't an issue anymore -- right?
I'm assuming that the dueling formats only matter for 4x3 television. Or do they matter for 16x9?

But you still have region locked BD's, region A, B and C.

I don't think they matter on Blu.
I'm pretty sure that 4:3 vs 16:9 has nothing to do with it, since my complaint is audio-related! :p

Found the words that escaped me. Is frame rate the same for 16x9?
“Before the Dark Times. Before the Prequels.”
Oh, no, it's apples and shovels. The frames can be at a 16x9 or 1.33:1 or anyother size and still be played at the 23.97 (or whatever) NTSC rate or the 24 PAL rate.
Zepplinrox (recently) and Boon have done the past PAL->NSTC conversions, making them aware of the forthcoming release, might speed up the harvest or teleport this project off this analog Phase Alternate Line. (yeah I need wikipedia for that one)
Ooo, none with the knee slappery! ;)
How about that picture of the beheaded Ponda Baba for a menu screen? Haha.
I will be posting news about this release over at FE.org when the release is official, unless someone beats me to it ;-)
Zepplinrox is in the process of sending me his NTSC conversions of the Miami Editions of BE and RTJ that he tied up with the original menus. I am very much looking forward to seeing them. As is Nathan Hamill, who still hasn't got round to buying a multi-region player to play the PAL DVD's I sent him.
Nice line 'none'!

Just happened on the new sneak peek last night. Excellent work JD! Made me feel genuinely excited about Star Wars for the first time in a while.
Glad you liked it. More progress today. But it's slow going. FCP keeps crashing. So I am having to render it in 10-15 min blocks. It sucks!
Also changed the submenu seen on the YouTube sneak preview to something that looks much better. Also managed to integrate a final two interviews into the feature commentary.
Oh and this just got posted on twitter:
@JamieSWB @adywan @NathanHamill @redlettermedia @StarWarsDaily @theforcenet OMG - I NEED THIS! Looks amazing! - This was from Kyle Newman

Hey, great news! I don't remember hearing of a Miami Edition of RTJ. I'll need to get both of them sometime. :)
Edit: I see at fanedit.info that the Miami versions are there, but the DL versions are only available in PAL. Are the NTSC ones he's sending you DL or SL?

The PAL version was posted on a.b.sw about a year ago, if that helps.
“Before the Dark Times. Before the Prequels.”
Ripplin, I think the last several pages of the RTJ thread were devoted to discussion of the various versions.
^Word! Just looked into that. Thanks. Looks like I should just go ahead and grab the SL NTSC versions, as there is hardly any difference in size anyway. :)
Got both in their entirety in around 5 hours or so. JDownloader and Megaupload is an amazing combination. ;)
Well it's done!
After all this time a final version has been made and burned to DVD.
I intend to watch it this afternoon and then rip it and make a download friendly Divx for my QC team and those lovely people who donated to help the HDD recovery.
Phew!

As I'm from PAL-land, they'll sound just perfect to me. :)
It's always good to have the option of both though.
Great news that this is imminent for everyone soon Jambe. Well done, and your extra features sound neat too!
Wonderful news, Jambe!
So your trilogy is finally complete... Now what? :p
Returning to Raiders?
What now? Life my friend. Life!
Unless someone gives me a job off the back of this!
