One bit that sprang to mind:

During the whole sequence when Veers looks through his periscope, orders maximum fire power, shoots and destroys the shield generator, here are some ideas:

(1) try to include not just the dead AT-ATs in the background, but multiple burning holes where snow speeders have been shot down.  Maybe extra rebel trooper bodies on the ground too if possible.
(2) do something with Veers periscope view, so it actually targets and shows four circles as to where the four AT-AT guns should be fired.
(3) when the guns fire, have them actually "build up" a bit like the game R-TYPE and make the beams more intense (less red, more white -maybe even bright if that's possible)

(4) when the shield generator explodes, naturally replace the explosion, but add a shockwave that may even push clouds away and/or hint at the shield itself collapsing.  You could nix the weird AT-AT shot at the trooper right before the shield shot, and just have the trooper fall down from the shockwave.

Maybe an extra shot of the top that we see the exlosion.

i have things planned for the sequence where the shield generator is destroyed but i'm keeping this one secret until the edit is released.

as for vaders chamber, i do like the corridor idea abut not an airlock or lift. he wouldn't need a sterile environment so his wounds wouldn't get infected because they would have healed after all this time. i've always thought that the actual  meditation unit had some sort of inbuilt force field protecting Vader when he has his mask off and that his breathing apparatus was linked into its systems which would allow him to have his mask off for short periods of time. i won't be doing any changes to that apart from the entrance.

 

I agree to that actually, did like the new corridor someone made. The idea that Vader had a little secuded section to himself. maybe i could suggest something Adywan, delete the officers in the original footage and darken the corridor. This way it would feel like a dark dim corner of the ship he resides in but keep the original position of the chamber.

Just thought i'd show you just how the edit is progressing. The top line of video are all the completed shots and the bottom line is left to do

Just for my own piece of mind.  Here are a few points I'd like to make about what I'd like to see/not see...

1 - Implied violence is ALWAYS more frightening than shown.  For that reason, we don't need to see the Wampa.

2 - Get rid of the recycled ROTJ Vader Shuttle footage.  It was HORRIBLE, and should never been seen (except in ROTJ) again.

3 - The Emperor hologram sequence.  While I never saw a problem with the original look or Clive Revil's voice in the first place.  I rather enjoyed hearing Ian McDiarmid.  However, I thought he looked like total shite.  Can you use footage of him from ROTJ, and make it look more "hologram-y".  The 2004 ESB DVD had the hologram not looking tranparent enough.  Also, PLEASE cut out all the new dialogue that Ian recorded for the 2004 DVD, and leave only the original conversation between Vader & The Emp.  the new dialogue makes Vader's reveal to Luke completely redundant to the viewer, and takes away ALL of the emotional tension.

Of course, I'm sure you've thought of all this already.

Done, done, and done. I understand not wanting to sift through hundreds of pages of thread, but those are answered in the first five lines of the first post.

Thanks for posting that pic of the program that you use. It is truly amazing the things that you have been able to create/fix while using your computer.

Are you sure that you aren't triplets, Ady, since you are surely doing work of at least three people? : )
