maybe you could show a few planets with burning imperial outposts also.

Now that's a good idea. By the sheer number of people celebrating the Emperors death you kind of have to wonder why they sat back and did nothing to end his reign.

I'd always assumed the general public were well duped by his charm and propaganda. But if so why sould the celebrate his death.

I havnt looked into this much, but I guess it would be similar to the fall of Rome. A empire that power reaches vast space, but was stretched too thing and was eventually defeated by barbarians/rebels Some would of celebrated and some wouldn't Best thing would be to research the fall of Rome to find the answers. This link will help with understanding how the emperor ruled at different times. http://www.jallman.net/entry.php?id=44 its also obvious that Luke/tatooine knew of the empire, and again it would of effected people on the planet differently,... "Listen, I can't get involved. I've got work to do. It's not that I like the Empire; I hate it! But there's nothing I can do about it right now. It's such a long way from here." ?Luke Skywalker to Obi-Wan Kenobi[src]..how much influence the empire had on that planet is unknown, but both Biggs and Luke wanted to join the Rebels to stop them..Even Solo, was not too fond of them...but I don't think the galaxy would of celebrated...there would of been chaos as other powers tried to fill the void of the emperors rule. If after 20 years of empire depression and domination and alot of people hating the empire if the empire fell it would of gotten very ugly for the empire and it makes no sense for civilians to want to celebrate until after you see that the empire has been crippled. ..its like watching a movie about ww2 and seeing hitler die at the end then cutting to the allied victories celebrations. ...The death of the Emperor was a symbol just like the death of Hitler. coruscant was also the symbol of the emperors power as was Berlin to hitler. When Hitler killed himself in his bunker underneath the Reichskanzlei, the fighting finally stopped in Berlin - a city then in ruins from air bombardment and the shelling of Soviet artillery. After the fall of Berlin, the war was not over - some units of the German army continued fighting for nearly another week, and some deserters were even shot a day after the unconditional surrender was signed. ..After ROTJ things would of been different...The rebels never destroyed the armies of the empire, nor did they take coruscant . \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ I got the idea for the outposts from the darkforces/jediknight game. The outpost I thought of was a grey stone like outpost/castle high up and built into a mountain..possibly over looking a settlement. The idea probably comes from Roman settlements.

Hello you to all. I'm new in the forum. I Especialy like to greet Zééé, I'm hungarian too. It' a good idea for to insert the Veers' death scene into the film. I saw the "extended Alderaan destuction" scene, and I can say it's not impossible.

I have a question, I make a Hungarian audio stream to the Ep4 Revisited, but I want to keep the menus. How can I modify the DVD?

Dear Mr. Adywan, up until last week I never heard of this concept of "the people" instead of waiting for George Lucas to fix these errors that he let slip through for so many years and claims he fixed them only made it worse.  So when I saw A New Hope revisited I had no idea.  And afterward I had no idea that it could look soooooooooo goooooooood.   I was impressed.   My older brother, hardcore and born star wars fan didnt know that you were doing this was very impressed he cant stop analyzing what you have done to only find no fault or flaws.    I have watched the movies throughout the years and have noticed things that could have been improved and the moment I am breathless to find that you are taking care of that and making ILM and Skywalker Sound look bad.

I had a suggestion about Empire Strikes Back on the scene of Dagobah (I know I cant spell), also to help connect episodes 2 and 3 with 5 better.  The idea is when R2 D2 is "regeritated" out of the water that when he is in the air you hear and see abit of rocket jets sounds and visual effects to see that he is attempting to keep himself from falling too hard.   Nothing glamorous just to see R2's attempt to use his rocket that he used on episodes 2 and 3 that for some reason never used again.   Well this is a tiny attempt to prove that wrong.  Plus it might make sense on how far R2 was able to travel by just being thrown up.  I am sure this is debatible but I had a picture in my head and it looked promising.

Are you also going to add burn marks from when vader and luke are fighting on the walls when they are fighting on the ledge outside over a minute before luke looses his hand?

Is it possible that when vader uses the force to move that pillar to hit luke and luke slices right through it with his lightsaber that some parts of it should have broken off?  Can that be added somehow? And when Vader is throwing items at luke and luke somehow misses every single one of them (only proving that he sucks and deflecting objects with his saber) that maybe some can be added that when luke swings he his some and slices through them but his efforts are still not good enough because vader is still very powerful not indicating that lucas is too weak???

And one more that I noticed that was not fixed and hard to see but I noticed: when vader thinks he froze luke and he says "perhaps you are not as strong as the emperior thought" just before it changes scene shot vaders saber looses its color for one frame, the very last frame. somehow this got by lucas and his companies all this time.

I noticed other errors with the movie but I think you have them covered already.  Cant wait to see it come out.

Can you fix that please?  you can email at mustangman0612@yahoo.com if you have these ideas already in mind and I will just be quiet.

I disagree with adding Artoo's rockets to the OT.  I think they should be removed from the PT - I personally think they're rather ridiculous.

If he had his rockets in working order, he wouldn't have fallen into the water in the first place.

But let's not only point out the negatives of havoline's post.  I believe that burn marks are on the agenda, and a complete rotoscope of every lightsaber and blaster bolt will take care of Vader's saber color loss, as completely insane as both of those challenges might be.  But the insanity of going frame by frame and trying to add two-dimensional burn marks to a three-dimensional object filmed almost 30 years ago will be well worth it to add a bit of a shine to a nearly perfect movie.

According to the Star Wars Episode 2 Visual Dictionary those rockets of Artoo's only had a lifetime of about twenty years so they would no longer be functional. I say leave the prequel rockets in and the absence of them in the OT alone.

BTW where can I see this  "extended Alderaan destuction" sequence?

I agree, the rocket thing is absolutely unnecessary. In the Original Trilogy, that kind of effects shot (what didn’t serve the storyline) only the waste of time.

That is why I said, all the fan people have an own opinion about what would be excellent if Adywan changed or fix it. But all effects is unnecessary if it doesn’t serve the whole story line.

A simple T47 ship, what fly into the AT-ATs cockpit is just a great but unnecessary shot, but if something big happening during the scene, example Veers died because of the explosion….it would be great, I think.

A bigger Hoth battle would be excellent if Adywan has the capability to do something similar to this cutscene.(Veers's death, just read back one page!)

And of course we all want to see the AT-ATs landing pods…and a lot of new things.

(Sorry for the false grammar…but I am Hungarian:))

I know we've talked about adding the landing ships and it was rejected, but I want to re-add my suggestion that we just see one lifting off as we first see the cloud that the walkers emerge from.  The cloud could be the snow disturbed by the landing and taking off of the ship.  You could even just have the tail end of it flying off the top of frame.  It would be easy (relatively) to do, and would explain all the smoke.  I'll mock something up sometime.

The landing ships look cool. That picture looks very much on the scale of the prequels which wouldn't neccesarily be a bad thing...

I must say it is a really good  idea, and I hope so Adywan also can live whit this. (I wish itJ

Adywan has an own idea about the changes, but all advice from the fans is very useful. And I think he will be pleased if someone try to help him.

And here is one of my personal favorite concept shot, unfortunately not used in the movie. A beautiful view of the Imperial Stardestroyer with the planet Hoth. What can I say.....Exelent conception.

These are some beautiful shots.......a much more grand scale, that makes so much sense......which has probably been my largest dislike of the original trilogy movies, the tiny scale of the empire. Thanks to Adywan, he fixed the final battle in ANHR, which just fit so much better with regard to the scale of the empire. I hope ESBR, can get some beefing up to the empire as well.....peace.....

Indeed!

But....I dont mean to sound like a kill-joy with these fantasic ideas coming up now, i just think we've got to be a little more realistic here.

Yeah, the Tie reveal in a ANH:R was one of those jaw dropping moments (even if some didnt like it!) that brought the movie upto date with current technology IMHO (ive always wanted to ask you how in the hell you did that, yet i prefer not even knowing).

But, creating 'moving' AT ATs in computer graphics that fit in with the existing footage, would be something even a studio of computer graphic artists would struggle to do (never mind recreating actors to add extra scenes here and there).

My apologies in advance, as this has nothing to due with this discussion, but I was browsing through some posters, and came across this one. Thought it would provide a laugh. Just one question - Why is the Millennium Falcon in this poster ?!? And why did Han get it modified?

Forget the double headed Falcon...have you seen those coat hangers?! :p

Just goes to show how much into the popular culture Star Wars managed to embed itself.

ESB was recently voted 3rd out of 500 movies in Empire's movie poll - by the people who work in the movies...

I threw together my mock up.  I forgot to look for any good landing ship shots, so I just used what I could find on Wookieepedia, which was an Acclamator Star Destroyer from Episode II.  It's not pretty, but it gets the idea across.

It could stand to be even further off the screen, or smaller.  I think this shot could do with some sense of motion, because it is completely still (which may be good for the dread factor and to balance it out with the Rebels scrambling in the shots previous and following).  But I think some subtle motion wouldn't hurt.

Excellent….you just simple amazed me about the conception. The second one picture is much better than the first one. Of Corse if Adywan can live with the concept idea, he must be rendering a new ships and a few more AT-AT. Additionally it wouldn’t be that wrong if the ships isn’t move. I know, all fan would prefer a much dynamical shots than a simple matpaint…but just think a little bit….if the AT-ATs pods already landed, why leave? The Rebels not that strong, there is nothing to fear to moving the ships a save distant.

Where is Adywan when the people needs him? J

He's absolutley right. All of Ady's fixes (except for the TIE reveal) was reusing existing movie footage from all 3 movies recomposited in clever ways. Making "new" fx shots is very difficult if you want to keep the quality up. The TIE reveal is a "very easy CG shot"  since all your are doing is panning by completely rigid models. Even so, making this shot at the quality that meshed with the rest of movie was difficult and time consuming.  I really think you guys are expecting way too much and adding effects for the sake of adding effects.

The whole let's see the drop ships is kind of silly from the point of the movie's flow. You may not be aware, but originally the AT-ATs were kept a secret until the movie was released. The big reveal of the AT-ATs was brilliantly done. First small vague little dots... audience is like "what the hell is that..."   Then zoom in with binoculars on one "wow that thing is big" ... then pull back to see a whole lot of them..."here comes a beat down!" .  Adding the drop ships like in 005's example shots would pull emphasis on the drop ships, not the AT-ATs which are the stars of the ground battle.

I think you missed something. We don’t talk a new shot what alter the reveal of the AT-ATs. We just talk a new composite shot. The first reveal was (with binoculars)  brilliantly done, no one wants to alter or modified or fit a new shot into the movie. But a new composite background would be excellent. What is the problem with that if Adywan replace the old snow and cloud background with a new one, where the viewer could see some new element, like the landing pods. I think a new MATPAINT what Adywan already did in the EpIV Revisited  is an excellent idea. Don’t you think? J

"Adding the drop ships like in 005's example shots would pull emphasis on the drop ships, not the AT-ATs which are the stars of the ground battle."

It’s funny….as you said….BIG REVEAL. If you see above the pictures, You can only see small black points, not even an AT-ATs.

Because of the shield and the stealth factor, I think any drop ship would have landed far outside the visual range of the Rebel base.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Author

 (Edited)

There is no any kind of stealth factor. It is the Empire opposite a small Rebel force. This is not the Clone Wars. The Empire doesn’t fear anything mostly NOT the Rebels….because the rebels just a simple nothing for the Empire’s Army.(even the destruction of the first Death Star doesn't mean anything.)
