I hate when people say incendiary or incorrect things and fall back on “woah, why are you so mad, dude? Why are you taking it so seriously?” the second someone tries to respond.

Eww.

Pot kettle and all that.

You’re right. The hives I once got from eating expired, unrefrigerated peanut butter were far more viscerally distressing.

Who refrigerates peanut butter?

You refrigerate peanut butter? You monster…

Before right this minute, I didn’t know you could leave peanut putter unrefrigerated for long periods of time.

Apparently DE does.

Score one again for me not reading through before I reply. …In any case, peanut butter is usually made from peanuts, palm oil, sugar, and salt. You generally don’t have to refrigerate those ingredients.

I had an actual literal screaming match with one of the big whigs at my job. I hate this place. I want out. I’m tired of feeling this way all the time. This is the first actual screaming match I’ve had but I feel this angry and frustrated every day and I’m done.

Hoping you can find a new job quickly.

From my understanding you’ve worked there long enough you could probably find much better work with your track record of experience and dedication.

This so much. I’m just starting to learn this lesson myself.

Goddammit. I didn’t want to read that.

All of my friendships are entirely unrewarding. I might as well not know anybody.

I’m not sure what makes a friendship rewarding other than pleasure of company.

I suppose I’m just not convinced they’re very good friends.

I don’t have people with whom I socialize on a regular basis and I’m not good at staying in touch. Maybe it’s a trust issue or extreme introversion but I’m pretty okay with it.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I just assumed that my insanity and lack of empathy was making me miss the point so I’m glad to find someone who agrees with me. .

As an empathic sane person I’m not sure how I feel about this.

I certainly have issues putting trust in others, and have been told I am the most antisocial person they know, so who knows. All I know is I don’t feel like I’m getting the most out of life and feel mostly unwanted.

I think you only get out of a friendship what you put into it. At least you’re among misanthropes here.

Same to you, Possessed. I know we’re all supposed to be grumpy at each other all the time but hopefully this is a place that provides some relief from everyday life.

I think that’s the problem. I feel like I put too much into maintaining friendships that the other person doesn’t really value. So it just ends up being work. That combined with what I said in my last post makes any kind of meaningful friendship really difficult.

And I appreciate the space here.
